Unable to drop survivor, trapped survivor stuck in a trap loop

I tried letting last 2 escape, after letting them repair 4 gens I led them to my NOED so they get extra points, I grabbed him to check if I maxed out my points and he was stuck on my shoulder, the other person went into a trap, he untrapped himself but it only led him a bit forward outside of the trap still in trap animation unable to do anything, I was still able to grab him but after dropping him he was still in trap animation, the icon still showed him trapped aswell, I dropped him right at the edge of gate and it worked he managed to escape, but I still had Steve on my shoulder, I couldnt drop him! I stepped in my traps, went trough windows, opened lockers, closed the hatch, I tried everything but nothing worked! his timer was paused at half and it didnt move the whole time, endgame collapse ran out of time and we were still in a match for 5more minutes which is when I went towards the hatch and it didnt trigger another timer or anything, he ended up DC'ing :(
