Remove the Point Limit
Back when pips were determined by the amount of bloodpoints per category, the 8.000 point limit per category made sense. But now, with the removal of ranks, the limit is useless.
Why not remove it, so people can focus on specialized builds that give them points without limiting them to 8.000.
If someone wants to do 5 gens alone, then let him do that. Someone wants to go full healer? Let it be.
Or is there a another reason for the limit?

I'd say because if everybody did one thing during a whole match and specialised, solo queue would be a disaster.
This would work with SWF but would inevitably end in a de pip for the killer due to chasing the designated chaser all round (seeing as likely they wouldn't find the specialised gen jockeys urban evading round the map as p3 claudettes and fog offerings!)
Furthermore, I think not forcing people to do different and varied roles all match every match would be boring and eventually make people's skills go stale

I have to agree. It's annoying to run the killer for almost the whole game and at some point not even getting points. Same with doing gens.

What about perks like Proove Thyself or the killer addons that give bonus points during the match? With those you max out the points in a category in no time. Proove Thyself 1 1/2 gens = maxed out objective points. Little incentive to keep doing gens from there on.
Wraith with Distressing and the Beast addon = 3 hits until he maxed out points.
Shouldn´t those perks/addons incentivise getting more points? With the current layout, they are useless.

Not if it locks you out of builds or using what you want!
Its about as stupid as having killers that need addons to perform well (wraith and trapper especially)
BHVR is trying to remove that dependency, adding more is silly

One of the reasons I stopped using prove thyself. You max out so fast I don't want to do more gens for literally no reward.

The 32k point limit still exists. I just asked for the removal of the 8k limit.
Also, what has taking the game hostage to do with this`?

Because it may encourage farming, making the game potentially endless other than flat and hence boring. When in a match you are capped at 8,000 points on objectives - assuming you get iridescent emblem - then you can focus on doing something different, at the advantage of the team.

I think @Tsulan is talking about the Category Cap. This should indeed be removed. Your example with 8000 points on Objective is pretty flawed, if I do two Gens with another Survivor, I am almost maxed out, with Prove Thyself I am maxed out after 1 1/2 Gens, I think.
But does this mean I should not do Gens anymore and do something else? No. What about getting chased while maxed out Boldness? Should I not get any BPs for that?
The Category Cap should go, especially because the Survival-Category is quite difficult to max out. On the Killer Side for some Killers, Deviousness is hard to get, but you max out in Hunting and Brutality pretty easy.

I think it's so you have to focus on everything, like how often as survivor do you actually get 32k blood points? If there wasn't a limit people as you said people would just specialize on one area and screw the other survivors out of those points.

Because not everyone wants to use a boring point farming build, nor would one work on every single killer...

There is a issue with points assignment, not with capping.
If it's easy to cap it with Prove Thyself I think the problem is with this perk, which is quite generous with the bonus and therefore I think PT needs to be recalibrated or even rethought, considering that you already get a bonus for co-operation. This applies also to similar perks.
I think I never see a cap on Survival, but that's, again, has nothing to do with caping, it just because we don't gain points on that doesn't mean it would be fairer to remove the caps to make up for them.
Of course, it doesn't make any sense to cap one or two categories.

The problem with the current BP cap is that it invalidates certain add-ons and perks that increases BP gain. I do know a good change to fix though. Make it so that the BP offerings increase the BP cap in its category. For example the Primrose Satchel allows you to collect 12.000 BP in altruism and the Ardent Tanager Wreath allows you to collect 16.000 BP in brutality. Cakes, streamers, and envelope would probably still be unchanged due to how big the percentages are on those things

What if one of the survivors has maxed out a category, but has to keep doing that task in order to ensure escaping? Wasted points.
When I maxed out objective points, I have little incentive of doing gens. Which could potentially lead to survivors losing the match.

The grind is already hard enough.
If I can gimp my build but get more points out of it, then that's a welcome change.
It doesn't has to be meta all the time.

It is boring to use point farming builds, but with the low BP you get as survivor is almost necessary.

Survival is really hard to cap. It should be easier or simply removed as category with a limit.
Proove Thyself is a balanced perk that rewards team play. There should be more perks like it.

You don't have to tell me that! I go out my way to avoid stuff like UB and DS because it makes the killers time unpleasant, plus I'd much rather have a fun off meta build than whatever small pp build most people use
But builds exclusively for point farming as a survivor exclusively revolve around extreme altruism (nolb, wglf, etc.). This means you either have to get almost every save and go out of your way to make everyones life more difficult, or not get use out of your build, which does not help you elsewhere (besides gen rush with prove thyself).
It's just boring.

I'm averaging about 20-30k every match in solo queue, unless my team gets absolutely rolled of course. This is without BP offerings and not including gains from perks that increase BP gain!
Killer will always get more BP but idk why apparently every survivor gets abysmal bp gain, I know I don't

I though this was about the 1 million bp limit. The ingame limit is so you cannot farm bp.

Not every match has to be like that. Maybe 2 or 3 matches to get this or that and then back to the normal loadout.
