Third hook disconnect?
Real noob question....Why would someone disconnect at 3rd hook and a long game where they were going to score well?
I ask because I recently played a game where I was honestly out classed by the survivors (thanks match maker). I got 5 or 6 hooks total. 1 survivor was a flashlight clicking attention seeker and made such an irritation of himself that I spent a large part of the game chasing him and did down him 3 times. While carrying him to the hook on the 3rd down he disconnected. Why? He flashlight blinded me 4 or 5 times (contributing to my low hook numbers), escaped several times, got a few saves. He was easily the best of the survivors and no doubt would have gotten plenty of points. So what advantage did he have to disconnect? Does he keep items? Rank? Honestly confused.

Cause he's mad.

It's just a rage quit. That guy was pissed you beat him and he thinks he can take back some control by denying you a third hook. It's just an emotional reaction. Kind of a pathetic one at that.

It's hilarious when people still do this when there's a DC penalty now. They think they got the last laugh, but they're the ones getting a timeout. Bonus points if they stick around to talk trash in the chat lol.

I've always read people doing this as pure spite, to deny you the extra 1000 (or whatever it is), and possibly deny you a Gold/Iridescent medal for Devout, they'll sacrifice ALL their points and take a 5 minute minimum ban.

I mean, they could have lost connection.
But I see people do this on both sides. Like take the points.
People get emotional I guess.

Probably to rob you of the kill. Some people are ######### like that.

It’s a soft protest. A way of saying they didn’t like a circumstance within the game.

I've had survivors DC in the middle (or after) the kill animation... like thanks but what about you?

Are you on console or PC? I think i might know why.

I'm on PC. The survivor was too. All the other survivors were console.

Well I know that on console before people would DC on their 3drd hook in order to keep their items and leave the match which would count as a escape instead of death. They would do it by testing there NAT type as the death hook animation happened. I have done it before. I don't know if it costs killers the kill or something.

Not sure what that would be. The guy was very good, despite being obnoxious in a lot of toxic ways. Maybe he didn't like me puking on him! Vomimommy for the win! Lol, actually I lost pretty bad.... but I got that guy and I'll watch for him from now on.

You bruised his ego lol That's the problem when some people hit a certain skill level in this game they think they should win every match and if they don't then it's the camping tunnelling trash killers fault lmao

Sad thing is I was trying to ignore him and play the game, but he wouldn't let me. He would almost assuredly have survived if he just played a regular game.
Guess I should be glad it wasn't a 4 man swf all with the same attitude... that's always fun...

Might be lost connection. I've had games where I'm doing well and then my internet decides to die on me for no apparent reason. Luckily it's not as bad as it used to be because I've improved my connection (cost me a fortune to do it... but it was worth it not to have sub 2 mbps).
