My Idea for a Better Piggy (Pt. 2)
Okay, we gotta talk about the beartraps. Simply put, they don't do their job. They suck, in fact.
The way I see it, they were supposed to be a way to apply pressure by forcing the survivors to actively seek out their key before they die instead of healing or doing gens. Theres just one problem: they don't do that.
As it is now, placing an RBT on a survivor doesn't seem to change anything, because more often than not, the first or second box they go to is the one and they get it off before its even active. So here are my proposed changes:
First, the Jigsaw Boxes should NOT be interactable until the trap is active. Think about it: the Game never started in Saw until the stakes were high, and Amanda's Game with her own RBT didn't begin until it was active! It only makes sense.
Second, the trap should apply either Broken or Mangled to the survivor its attached to by default, no addons required. Probably Mangled would be the more balanced option. I just feel like having one on your head without an addon just makes it... not threatening enough, you know?
What do you guys think? How would you change the RBT, or even the charge for that matter, to make Piggy a bit more viable?

This would basically the same like Ruleset Number 2 Basekit. This is actually quite bad, because it would force Survivors to do Gens before getting rid of the RBTs, currently, most of the time Survivors go for the Boxes, which means that the Pig has Slowdown. But when Survivors have to have an active Beartrap to see the Boxes (or can interact with them), they will do Gens, which is worse than them running around.

Please no. Add Ons which apply Mangled, Broken, Exhaustion to Beartraps should not exist and those who already exist should go. And it should not be Basekit, because it just encourages the tunneling Playstyle of bad Pig-Players. Stuff like "This person cannot heal" or "It will take longer for them to be healed" just encourages this.
In general, the Traps should not result in Death on a frequent basis, they should be timewasters. There were ideas that each Trap has a fixed number of attemps (1, 2, 3 or 4), which means that one person will get the Trap off in their first try, another person has to do 2 Boxes and so on (not in an order, just randomly).
But overall, I dont think that the Traps need any work, in fact, I would wish for less focus on the RBTs when they give Pig some Love and more focus on her Dash and Stealth.

I feel like they're even worse for slowdown if you make it so the traps can't be removed until they're activated. I think they need to normalize her boxes a bit, and then give her a bit more chase power and boost her stealth to compensate. Right now she probably has the weakest chase potential in the game.

Im not trying to get increased lethality here. I'm just trying to increase the amount of pressure, quite literally the 'weight' of having an RBT. And yeah, sure, I can see how them being forced to work on a genny could be bad for some playstyles, but genny rushing has never been something that ruined me completely.

I think they should at least make it so her rng is more like trapper instead of already having a key in one of the boxs. So basically they have a low chance of getting it and that chance increases up to 100% for each box they search, it would make taking off the beartrap first or second try more rare... i think.
However i think that should wait until she gets a addon rework because it would make her tampered timer and extra jigsaw box even more broken.

Interesting. I absolutely like the idea about beartraps activating on the hook! That makes a ton of sense, and would make beartraps viable at endgame, which is one of my biggest beefs with them as they stand. For something that's supposed to keep them from leaving, it sure sucks that they can waddle out the gate with it on if it isn't active.

It's a lot worse when an RBT is active, and they hop through the hatch.

Id honestly be willing to trade Tampered Timer for it. I never use it anyway, i always use increased charge addons.

The traps are quite effective already. They make survivors waste time going over boxes, no matter if they get it right from 1-2 tries. What I find stupid enough about the Pig's design is the number of traps she can have for the entire match. I see no reason to limit her capacity of traps, seeing as everyone else is rocking with full load for the entire match. What makes her traps so OP that if she manages to down someone, she can just put another trap on them. After all, for as long as a generator has not been completed, they are free to do whatever they want. Limiting Pig's traps to 4 feels like just punishing the Killer for nothing.

I Feel the same way. It makes getting caught by the killer that much more dangerous knowing that their power is always at their disposable. With pig, its like 'oh shes out of traps! This will be easy because now shes just an m1 killer!

IMO, an individual Trap would have to stall a Survivor for at least 3 Jigsaw Boxes for it to have been a good Trap. 2 Boxes is mediocre but serviceable, and 1 Box is awful. The other problem is that a Survivor wearing an inactive Trap does not really have enough incentive to stop doing gens until the Trap activates. If they really want to play it safe, they can simply check one or two boxes first before doing gens; that way when the Trap timer starts, they've already cleared some of the boxes. Against a good Survivor, the RBT simply does not light enough of a fire under them.

You fail to realize that while your description is true and does happen sometimes, the killer is in control of the situation in most cases. Once you have placed a trap on someone and see the trap activate, patrolling boxes is a very effective way to deny a survivor a chance to disarm the trap and waste even more precious time, bringing them closer to death without Killer having to hook the survivor 3 times. This is something many Pig players forget. They can actually force a survivor out of the game early by bullying them out of time with the trap. Again, something very powerful already that simply Pig Killers does not take advantage of and simply write the killer as a weak one despite not using its full potential.

Patrolling boxes is also a very effective way to allow the others to just bumrush the gens. So yes, you are definitely wasting someone's precious time. :P
