Operation Health

BHVR Devs, can we just take a chapter or two to work on something that is bigger and more necessary to the game than a new killer or survivor? Take a page from what other developers do and take the time to do a rework of the core mechanics of the game, matchmaking, and servers.

Chapter Health or whatever it could be decided upon should be an overhaul of what already exists inside the game. Fixing perks that don't work together properly, matchmaking that even the MMR system won't fix, servers that are outperformed by indie titles. Start at the base, go back to the beginning and put time into reworking the structure and the foundation of the game. Current "patches" are only band-aids thrown on to stop it from collapsing, but introduce new issues in the process. Make a mass patch, THE patch, and make it one that would come from overhauling the whole title before it finds itself in a video titled "The 1001 Bugs of Dead By Daylight".

It wouldn't be a fast thing to do, it would take a lot of time and effort to get done, but the game needs it. Old players are leaving and new players aren't staying. Give more graphic settings; colorblind mode, sliders for specific aspects of the game such as motion blur, anisotropic filtering, and ambient occlusion. UI options that have sliders specific for every part of the UI, and then give the option as a "legacy UI" where you can choose to have the old UI back. Synergize perks with each other and with killers powers too. It is almost a coin-toss for new killers if a certain type of hit will count towards Save The Best For Last or Devour Hope, people nearly need a cheat sheet of who those perks work for and who it doesn't.


Devs, as someone who has had this game for over 2 years (I know, not since the beginning), I can clearly say I have watched a decline in quality as the game has progressed, to a point where it was the first game on my mind when I had the time to sit down and play something. Anymore, it has to feel like a good day for DBD, and I need to play SWF to actually make sure my teammates have over at least 250 hours so they know (somewhat) how to loop. and then I need to put a sock on my head so my connection to the server is better, and give a sacrifice of my first-born in hopes that the server gods will actually listen.

The game has become worse and worse, with older players becoming few and far between and newer players never getting past 25 hours before never touching the game again. An overhaul is needed, please start at the core and work the FULL code, not just band-aid it like the rest. Somewhere in the game is a lit Ruin totem that is just hiding in a corner of the code that is keeping this game from hitting the full potential it could have; find it, cleanse it, fix it.
