Post game messages - Why?
While I don't get many messages after a match I always wonder why anyone bothers to send them when it does happen. I could not care less if someone else thinks I played a good or bad game. I don't care if they don't like the way I play. On the flip side I don't expect anyone else to care what I think of the way they play. For that reason I am never the person that messages first after a match, and rarely respond when someone messages me. When I do respond it's because someone is messaging me repeatedly. In those situations I respond with stuff completely unrelated to DBD because I want to annoy them like they're annoying me.
Having said all that allow me to also say I understand that's just my personal preference. I'm not criticizing anyone that sends messages or responds to them.
I'm just genuinely curious about why others take the time to do it.
For reference I'm posting this because someone sent me at least 10 messages after a game a little bit ago. I was already in another match and just kept having messages pop up. I just blocked the person without reading any of them. I just couldn't understand why this person would even think I cared what they had to say. The only thing I cared about was that they quit annoying me with messages popping up while I was trying to play. Maybe that was their whole reason for doing it. I don't know. That's why I'm asking for input.

You may very well be right. I guess from my perspective I just don't want that to be the case because that level of butthurt over a game seems extremely unhealthy.

I think it's more understandable on PC since you just type in a quick "gg" for sportsmanship and move on. Messaging specific people on console or other sounds like too much work though. Can't imagine it would be for any other reason than to BM you somehow, and salty players absolutely need to let you know how much your gameplay ruined their day, because suffering alone isn't human nature 🤷♀️

On PC I stream and actually came across a SWF team streaming and they were pretty chill and post-game we all chatted for a bit and followed each other. That's my one wholesome DbD moment. I block all non-friend messaging on Ps4, learned that lesson playing Overwatch years ago.

I can see that. I play on PS4 so that's the only perspective I was seeing it from and it's definitely extra work to message someone on a PS4. I have cross play turned off so that's definitely the platform this person was messaging from.

I like to give GGs when due. That's about it.

I've thought about restricting my messages. Might be the route to go.

Why wouldn't you? Based from what I've read you don't like any messages from others, so there's no point in allowing them to send messages at all.

There are other games I play where I want to get messages because often times I'm part of a team, and not all of the team are part of my friends.
