First, this is French for “trick the eye”, and it refers to optical illusions. This could be introduced with some sort of trickster survivor. Or maybe a magician or French mime or something. Anyway.....


As a master of deception, you know how to direct the gaze of your audience where you want it, and away from what’s important. After you have been in a chase for 30 seconds, Trompe l’oeil can be activated. Crouch and press the active ability button to create a line of scratch marks 16/24/32 meters directly behind you. These scratch marks progressively appear and fade as though you had continued running in that direction.
