The survivor rule book
Isn't the survivor rule book just a way for survivors to try and shame killers to make the game even easier for them?

Pretty much.

Wait whats the survivor rule book?
0 -
Yea pretty much. But arbitrary survivor rules mean nothing to those who have seen how disgusting survivor mains act towards killers.
8 -
OMG dare you challenge the book of truth?
10 -
It's term people coined because survivors would wine about literally everything the killer did.
7 -
you mean toilet paper ?
5 -
Do killers have one?

Forget it, stay true to the movies

Man I was looking for the survivor rulebook manifesto but this seems to be the wrong chat
2 -
Kind of, it's far less common than hearing about the survivor rule book though.

Survivor rulebook:
- After hooking a survivor, leave the map until they get unhooked.
- Don't go after the survivor that just got unhooked even if they run right into you.
- Don't tunnel people off of gens.
- Don't slug.
- Don't bring NOED.
- Don't play Spirit.
- Don't play Freddy.
- Don't play Deathslinger.
- Don't bring Iri Head.
- Don't bring Ruin/Undying (pre-nerf).
- Don't burn Sacrificial Ward offering so we can go to Haddonfield.
- Let me teabag you.
- Come watch me at the exit gate/hatch.
- And for the love of Pete, let us do the gens and escape.

This is the only game i've ever heard where i side will ######### talk someone when they beat them but then also ######### talk them for using tactics that help them win

I'm still waiting for the official version of this rulebook, but according to confidential information, it looks like a Major Development Guidelines report, whose essential recommendations are only consensus principles in the world of video games. Like: camping is not interesting gameplay and is frustrating for many players, and you have to act so that this situation does not arise.
It is far enough from the caricatures that some can make of it, to scare, to convince that nothing should change as soon as it concerns them.
1 -
Yes and no.
Our book, insofar as I've learned, consists of like, 3 or 4 things.
-Don't genrush.
-Don't butt-dance.
-Don't clicky.
-Don't DS when we aren't tunnelling you.
1 -
Thats the book survivors made up that came free with the game. I read the first sentence and immediately threw it out.
1 -
Eh, and i'd add a few addendums to that.
-Don't genrush, then complain about short games.
-Don't butt dance, then complain about the killers head moving in any direction ever.
-Don't clicky, then complain I tunneled you. You asked for my attention, don't throw a fit because you got it.
-Don't act like DS is some big brain high skill move or that using it makes you a victim. You got unhooked and decided thinking was to hard and ran while watching tik tok on your phone.
1 -
I mean, that works. I was just giving the short and sweet version of the Killer's Rule-Pamphlet for Survivors.

That's cool, was just adding to the conversation. Not calling you out or anything.

There is no rulebook for either side. Plsy how YOU choose.
But, I think both sides can agree some things are less than fun and borders on unsportsmanlike.
Sure you can DS a killer into a head on stun then a flash light blind.
Sure you can tunnel one survivor out the game with 5 gennys left.
Is it against the rules. NO. Is it fun or sportsmanlike?
Do you need a rulebook to tell you that?

Killer rulebook: stay on hook
0 -
Issue Is how often trying to be nice leads to being treated like crap. Slugging at death hook early on is something I do if I think someone is new. Issue is when you get a potatoe that doesn't understand you're being nice, not "toxic" and they act like massive shitheads who don't get the only reason why they got to live another three gens is because you let them.
It can be fine most times but when you're having a bad day and you feel like you had a good game only to have someone go off it can just be a little frustrating to say the least.

I get you my friend. I have plenty of killer time logged. I have received my fair share of tbags and hate.
I am not necessarily saying be nice, just don't be a dick. I'm talking more unnecessary tactics that you know are going to make the match unenjoyable for the other side.
I want to win every game. I want 4ks and 4 man escapes , every time. But I like to keep it as fun as possible. And I am not going to play like a straight ass to achieve it.

Yeah, I gotcha. You're good.

Here is what I have learned of the Killer's Rule Book (please note, I neither agree nor disagree with any of these. This is just what I've seen reading the forums.)
1.) Don't run any exhaustion perk. They're all unfair to Killers.
2.) Don't do your objective. You should worry more about opening chests or cleansing totems than trying to get out of the exit gates.
3.) Don't use any perk at all that gives you even a slight edge in chases. They're all unfair.
4.) Don't run anything deemed a 'second chance' perk.
5.) in fact, you should only run perks that put you at a distinct disadvantage against Killers that are: faster than you, have more power than you, and can end any game for you very quickly.
6.) Don't worry about Killers who hit you on hook, tease you with the hatch, or who choose any other method to toy with you in a match. remember survs, you always have the advantage and should never do anything but make it easier for Killers to kill.
7.) You should predict any Killer that you may be facing so that you run the perk load out to best give you a chance. Nevermind that you can't see the Killer or have any indication of what you might be up against until it's too late.
Let's be clear, most of this is sarcasm. Play what you play and don't worry about the rest, but this entire "Survivors vs. Killers" nonsense, is just that. Outside of the game, it's complete nonsense.

Even if i cet the sarcasm on your post (and in a way the whats called "the survivor rules book"), have you ever seen killers complain in the end game chat about what you put in it, or on stream profile/consoles service message ? Except maybe genrushing (and i talk about real genrushing, when you let 1 or 2 people die on their 1rst hook to complete gens). Some killers may complain about things you said but they do it exclusively in forums, they will not invite you in a party or as friends to TT you, hell some survs even goes to your facebook profile xD

Killers rule book goes like this:
Doing gens? Toxic genrush
Looping? Toxic
Saving with BT when I'm camping? Toxic crutch perk
It goes both ways.
1 -
Didn't see this before posting mine, you added way more and way better.
Basically everything +1

I've seen Killer's say the kinds of things I mentioned in chat plenty of times. "DS saves the game again" ... "You didn't play, you're perks did". A Doctor that was real mad someone ran Calm Spirit. A Huntress who felt the reason that I used Spirit Burst is the only reason I ran her for two gens, tunneled me hard out of the game as soon as she could, and had some very interesting things to say in post game chat. The other comments can often included a lot of the same tired toxic remarks.
I don't think it's a 'contest' on which side can be more scummy than the other either in or out of game. In a game this size, there's going to be those kinds of people on both 'sides'.

no tbagging and clicking i guess

It's what happens when people mistake common courtesy for capitulation and go on to expect it from everyone.

From my own experience there's also:
-Don't use Exhaustion perks
-Don't use Prove Thyself
-Don't use pallets
-Don't use windows
-Don't loop
-Don't hold w
-Don't repair generators even when I'm not chasing anyone
-Don't use Unbrekable
-Don't use DS
-Don't use a perk I personally dislike
-Don't bodyblock as in carrying a survivor
-Don't sabotage
-Don't do totems so I can use noed/my hex perk
-Don't bring items
-Don't bring offerings (even Bloodpoint offerings).
These are all things I've heard many times over. Killers can be just as unreasonable.
2 -
Correct.

That's funny when I play survivor I have never had a killer complain/tell me I should do any of those things aka some fake rulebook. However I knew about all these fake ass survivor rules way before I ever joined the forums probably a month into my killer role just from all the xbox messages. That's the difference in your sarcasm and the rest of these post.
1 -
However I still do torture myself with the survivor rulebook not sure why,

Steah, with undying, ruin, tinkerer and B&C the game for killers is easy as hell against solos. My cat can 3k/4k every game without earphones. At least let us have fun.
0 -
I think Killer players should write what they encountered, then u make a list of the book.
Here is my example: a survivor avoid a hook by crawling under a hook, Killer should leave the crawler
0 -
When the next patch comes out and whenever they butcher freddy your going to be lost on here man. What else you going to talk about? Oh nerfing tinkerer you will still have that one I guess.
0 -
4 months after and the combo is already getting nerfed. Plus the game for solo survivors can be a lot easier but they are so unwilling to adjust their perks. Yes i know every survivor wants to use their ds/unbreakable/exhaustion perk/ BT combo. I honestly think if you're playing solo survivor and aren't using kindred you're trolling
