Is it just me or does everyone escape from Trapper bear traps on the first try now?
Played four rounds as him tonight, couldn't get a single down from the traps, even when I was pretty close by.
Traps feel pretty useless, what with everyone and their brother running self care lately.

Played last night and noticed the same. Got a few downs but 1 or 2 of them litterally escaped within a second of being trapped.

They never did give concrete numbers to the escape chances or what exactly they did with the escape percentage numbers.

is this live or PTB? Because I don't think the changes to Bear Trap escape rates are live yet.

apparently the Devs LOVE the RNG aspect of his traps, so thats not gonna change.
but hey, they made it a bit less common! that fixes it, right? ... right?

I think it was just you, unfortunately, because there's more than a month since the last time I was able to struggle out of it before the Trapper came to pick me up hahahahaha

Yeah, trapper is a fun killer but given how many things just deny your power it can be a big turn off from playing him.

Yeah. I don't remember the exact number, but I do remember that the chance for escaping on the first attempt is actually lower, but it increases with each attempt.

Actually I think trapper and Amanda would be the ultimate team can see Evan putting down his traps but Amanda laughing and making them better. It's a funny idea I've had for while.
I think they would enjoy each others work. Actually been thinking its probably the only true teachable perk law that happens. Where they exchange perks willing with out force.
The two would learn from each other well. But Amanda would laugh at his bear trap and pull out her own.

And then Trapper Boi would point out it still takes several tries to get out of his traps, while survs always seem to get hers off first try...

Currently survivors have 25% chance for each attempt (as they planned to pause survivors for 3sec each attempt x 4 = 12sec).
Though there are many times survivors can escape in a single try.
This makes me worry about in the new RNG in the next patch, where the first escape attempt is 16% (much lower on the first try). And each of the next one add another 16% (16-33-50-66-83-100%), which 6th try is an ensure escape.
But if you look at the number, the 2nd try is already 33%, much higher than 25%. I cant tell if the new RNG is better. But the fact the 1st try escape is still there, and the 7th try is no more...

No. I still have to struggle several times, most of the time the killer reaches before I can escape.

It's going to be like that after the mid-chapter-patch. At the moment the chance is the same for every attempt.
