Should we create our own Satisfaction Survey / Suggestions List?

Every now and then BHVR asks us to take some time and help them by filling out their official survey. I think the general consensus is that they listen to our thoughts but end up doing what they think is best anyway.

Would it be beneficial if the community got together and devised our own survey and list of improvements that we actually want?

I understand that logistically it might be a little tricky, I’m just curious if both the community and BHVR would get behind this or am I simply barking up the wrong tree?

Isn't that literally what the forums are? Or at least that's how ppl seem to be using the forum.

I think unofficial surveys have taken place (I saw a 4.5.0 PTB survey online that wasn't hosted by BHVR), but so far their sample size has been relatively small and it's difficult to reduce bias. If an individual hosts a survey, their followers will be more likely to fill it out rather than non-followers, which could cause results to be skewed, and that wouldn't be particularly useful.

On paper, the best method would be to make an unofficial survey and then set up an agreement with a variety of large content creators etc to publicize it and encourage their followers to fill it out before releasing the data several days later.

Essentially, your idea would definitely work, but like you said it would be logistically a bit tricky and would need to be done on a big scale. But definitely a good idea though! If a good plan with the community could be devised, it would work out great.

That’s a really great idea about handing it to content creators, if we could get the top 10 streamers and youtubers onboard to advertise it, it would definitely reach a good number of players, those players would also have an invested interest in the game.

The forums are one big list

...believe it or not, the devs actually do pay attention to it. They’re just not going to be on here every day, like many of us are, to comment and respond; but they do take it all in, regardless of people thinking they don’t.

It’s not a bad idea, though.

A survey like that would require everyone’s participation

I think it would be a big waste of time. The devs aren't particularly receptive to feedback.

That’s one of the issues with the forum, it’s one big, never ending list of complaints (and suggestions) fueled by a lot of passion, conflict, anger, bitterness, resentment, entitlement, well you get the point.

It doesn’t take much for a reasonable post on here to be CLOSED or moved to an irrelevant section where it loses all visibility all together.

If the devs are open to it, and if we could actually pull it off successfully, we could simply end up with a straight forward TOP 10 list of things the community wants done.

The most recent BHVR survey had questions that they already had the answers to, and questions that didn’t even need asking. Granted there were some that I found valid and worthy of giving feedback to.

That’s my gut feeling, I would really appreciate if one of the devs would actually politely decline my suggestion to back that up.
