Killers Lobby Dodging
I'm curious how often Killers dodge lobbies and why?
I know I will occasionally dodge a lobby if I catch a whiff of the "griefer team". You know....key, map, 2 flashlight, and they're all steam friends or private profiles or console players. I mean, honestly, killer queue is so fast it doesn't really matter to me. I'll be done with a game before they're even in one.

You guys have no idea how it worked back a while ago, when killers dodged, the whole lobby was sent back to the queue screen. Has nothing to do with the post but it reminded me of those times.

I tend to look at items and names to see if i may be dealing with a swf, and if ive had a few bad matches i will literally dodge lobbies if there isnt a mix of xbox/crossplay or even based on cosmetics, if you look fancy i dodge lol.

If the survivors look like a bully squad, unless I'm playing my main, I'm out.
10 -
I mean when they get lobbies instantly if they see an obvious SWF or a key or worse a key and a map I mean I can't blame them really.
11 -
Last weekend i had a rough patch of like 5 in a row that were just awful, i think i dodged about 15 straight lobbies after that for a suitable match.
2 -
It's honestly depending. I know people that refuse to do it no matter what the lobbies look like and others that leave if there isn't at least one default skin present.

Last weekend was rough. I depipped 2 ranks from 9 to 11 because I kept getting matched to red teams.

In The afternonn on sunday i climbed to 10 and then sunday night dropped me to 13

Me, survivors looks too noob or bringing key.
I like facing swf, it's challenging.

I’ve always been curious when killers say that. How can survivors LOOK like a “bully squad”?
1 -
All 4 running the same character and cosmetics, 4 flashlights, 4 keys,
8 -
I don't really dodge unless I have to go to the bathroom.

I just don’t see how someone can judge a team of supposedly being a “bully squad” by cosmetics. 4 flashlights maybe? But I normally hear the first reasoning, which is, having something to do with cosmetics.

Cosmetics that require lots of iridescent shards, multiple flashlights, keys, friends on Steam, all identical skins (gotta make sure the OoO is hard to pick out), all cross-platform. This may not be 100% foolproof, but I don't need it to be. You have 2 or 3 of these things, I'm out.
4 -
If I'm on Myers and there's a Key, I am not sticking around. That's pretty much it though.
1 -
If I'm not being super memey, I'll often ditch a lobby if two or more survivors are playing the same character. It's too difficult to keep track of during the match.
2 -
I was in a Solo queue that got dodged 12 x’s consecutively. It’s possible that some of them were the same killer.
I had a map, so I’m guessing some of them were bringing Undying/Ruin or other hex perks.
We were in that lobby for almost 10min

Oh I have and will continue to do so. I only do dailies at night and if I see excessive toolboxes/flashlights and a key. Matching names that look like an obvious team... 4 p3 blendettes I’m moving on. Also if the loading screen comes up with a map and hatch offering, I’m out.
I don’t want an easy game but if the daily to feral frenzy x4, blink hits, etc I just want to complete that quickly and have a chill game to try and max points which results usually in everybody doing well.
2 -
I lobby dodge because the ONE time I decide not to is when a key & a hatch offering is brought.
The only time I lobby dodge is because of keys, and that's because they're unfair.
Oh yeah, I dodge 4 P3 Claudettes too unless I'm doc. I always feel like I'm seeing things when playing against them.

approximatelly outta 10 lobbies i dodge like 2 or 3. if i see 3 toolboxes or a key and map

I dont care about survivor levels, ranks, skins, items, offerings, until the point im sure it is NOT an SWF.
Check player profiles. SWF? Dodge.
I get 90% SWFs when i try to play killer, so i let that go.
Actually, after 3k hours...the game is currently uninstalled...for the first time in the history.
It has a good chance to stay like that; for a great cut of the playerbase the next update will be a critical point that might determinate the future of the game.

Only time I'll dodge is if I see a combination of 4 medkits/keys & I'm doing a meme build & I dont have time to change my perks

Keys, and certain countries. Keys aren't fun and playing with people say from Russia connections can be pretty bad, I have nothing against anyone but lag isn't fun, keys are unbalanced. Probably would dodge 4man swf I play for fun and honestly a 4man meta that can ruin any fun... not always but swf does need a look at (dont hate 2/3 swf just want a little balance, it's fun with friends just not balanced at high level play)

When I played killer if I saw three or more of the same character I dodged

Lobby dodging is for people who care way too much
1 -
I'll try to find a new lobby if I somehow ended up on a server where I have bad latency.
But that's honestly the only thing I check before just tabbing out until I hear the sound of the start-of-match camera spin.

4 people with the same identical skins
multiple keys
3/4 toolboxes
All PC players with multiple TTVs (not that I can't beat them because I do often, it's just they tend to make it feel like a trolly game fighting perks and not players)

I only dodge when ping is 130+. And I may dodge if I have kill/sacrifice challenge, and there is Dwight in my lobby. I can't force myself to kill Dwight.
I don't care about any outfits and items, so I never dodge lobby prejudging survivors.
1 -
This thing was THE worst.
You sometimes had to wait like 20-30 minutes if you wanted to play with friends and then boom, killer dodges the lobby because we are a SWF and then you would have to wait for a new lobby again
0 -
I have never dodged a lobby as a killer. Why would I? If I am going against a 4 man SWF and they beat me - oh well. If I am going against a 4 man SWF and I win - cool. I don't play to win - I play to have fun.
0 -
Ah, the days before dedicated severs, and the whole game was based off of the killer's connection so if someone had terrible wifi then the game would be unplayable

More than one toolbox and don't feel like using franklins? I dodge.
Key? No thanks. Dodge.
4 Quentins? Never again, dodge.
I don't dodge flashlights though. If you have lightborn, they're easy hits. Survivors just get to cocky and keep on trying to blind you. Makes my game way easier.
2 -
If i see a key, bad ping or a last second swap I'm out. Keys are always boring matches and last second swaps are just rude.
0 -
Forgot to add that. If survivors last second switch I just dc on the loading screen ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I don't dodge hard looking games, just the unfun ones. I have no issue with playing against SWF given solo survivors tend to be all over the place. However, if said SWF looks like the type to bring full meta perks, last minute switch to a key, and then a map offering on top, I'm out. If they do any of that and switch last second, the 'kill in process' trick is <3. SWF on its own can be super enjoyable though.
Sometimes I'll skip a match if the survivors look very new. 100 hour dwights have been oddly common lately, despite being a rank 1 nurse. That just isn't fun for anyone.

Good old times, where you could actually grab people and hits weren't as weird as they are now with dedicated servers.
Imagine people were excited about dedicated servers back then.
The new lobby system and the fact you don't have to invite your friends again, if someone leaves, is a real qol update though.

The items, for one. If I see a bunch of flashlights against my Wraith, for instance. Or against a killer that I don't have Lightborn on yet. Bully squads, of course. TTV are another. Or the Hex: Insertquiphere players. Mori Me Killer is another.
I don't have a lot of time to play anymore, so when I do play, it's just to relax. Not in it for the sweat, and if a match just feels sweaty, well, I'm better off leaving.

Oh easy, when i play killer i Dodge when
-I see a Key
-I see 4x the same char (even more if Claudette)
-I see theyre a full team with matching Names (aint nobody got time for this)
-i see last second switch to bring a key
-I see a .TV in the name in my first 2 games...i mean come on, let me warm up first to give a real show
Otherwise i dont really care
Like even the 4 char one, often i still play the game (unless its like Claudette chars), I dont even care of theyre SWF, i dont check their steam profiles anymore.

ah i remember those times. As a solo survivor i still see myself dodge lobbies when i know my teamates wille be toxic so the lobby won't be dodge for hours...
But as killer since i have insta lobby i don't see why i could not dodge if i see really strong items in the hands of obvious SWF (similar names like " X is my Daddy " and "I'm Y's Daddy" for example)
I don't play killer or survivor to sweat but have a good time so on either side i dodge if know the rest of the player is here to sweat their sweet bottoms.
1 -
I don’t dodge normally, how do you expect to get better it you keep dodging the hardest obstacles ? However i did dodge once and that was because two survivors last second switched to keys before the timer hit 5. Basically [BAD WORD] that so i closed the game because I hate scum like that, (Yes i would of brought franklins if i saw the key normally)

They also might have been Trappers. Maps ehm....remove his power from the game, basically. I dodge them quite often because of that.
2 -
Could’ve been ol’ Trappskiis, at least a couple of them anyway, since I’ve see only been seeing him once every 30 matches or so.
It’s interesting tho, since tbh, I only ever bring Rainbow with Jelly and Odd Stamp, and I only use it strictly for totems, but there’s so much info that they provide, I might as well utilize it’s full aura reading potential.
0 -
Of course. Maps are great. I always advocate for the removal of trap aura reading, though, but until then there´s nothing stopping you.
1 -
If I see TTV or YT in the gamertag. They can find someone else to give them content.
If it's lobby with multiple flashlights.
