Is Tinkerer the best killer perk?

What do you get?

All the info basically.

You start a game and if a gen lights up with tinkerer you can tell how many people are on it, if there were toolboxes in use or BNPs.

Its like bitter murmours but the gen is not finished yet and you can still defend it.

Also you get undetectable wich is always nice.

Also it cant be cleansed or something and if a gen regresses again it can light up again for that gen.

With ruin its even stronger, put surveillance on it and you basically have a perk combo thats kinda like OoO just for killers.

There is so much synergy and i dont think there is a stronger killer perk in the game.

What are candidates for that title anyways?

Pop? there are situations where theres no gen to kick, or no time because the pressure is to high, also you have to hook someone first.

Noed? only in endgame and can get cleansed before activation.

Ruin? can be cleansed

Undying? can be cleansed

Corrupt? runs out

BBQ? many ways to counter

Tinkerer just has no options to be countered and a experienced killer will get much info out of it every game.

In theory you are already doing gen pressure, Tinkerer just lets you prioritize.

I’d have it as a tossup between whispers and corrupt. Maybe monitor and abuse.

Corrupt gives you so much breathing room at the start of the game, and whispers is the best tracking tool by a long shot.

Monitor and abuse can give you so much distance before you start a chase, and helps locate survivors who would normally already be in a hiding spot if you had a regular terror radius.

But both of them have downsides:

Corrupt is really bad if you want to run a hex build, because if a survivor is spawning next to a blocked gen they will cleanse totems of course.

Also it runs out eventually and some people could pull of some decent hiding. It has the possibillity to fail.

    Tinkerer just gives information always.

Monitor makes OoO stronger, but its a great perk in many situations, but it is not great on every killer.

Tinkerer is nice on everyone imo.

So Overall i think its the best^^

You can have your opinion of course! just want to express why i think its the best perk on average :)

Wouldn't even make top 5 for me.

Well that’s why I typically run them all together. On really strong chasing killers that I have lots of practice on I usually don’t feel the need for much slowdown.

Corrupt + Whispers is an amazing combo. The map is so much smaller when you know how to use whispers effectively. I find chases almost immediately many games.

It’s even better with monitor on top of it because then you get a heads up where the survivors are before they even hear the heartbeat; and by the time they notice you are breathing down their neck.

Object I don’t mind because as I said, I’m running this on strong chasers where my primary difficulty is usually just finding people. Once I get into a chase people usually don’t last long.

Honestly tinkerer was overbuffed, the 85% was already usable (the undetectable was too short though) and now it is actually top-tier for most killers

I quite like Discordance too, as it does a similar job but gives you an earlier warning. I guess it's hard countered by survivors hitting 1 gens each

In theory, yes. In practice, you're already busy with another chase, or if they're teaming up, it's too late. If it pops multiple times, you can only pursue one. Information perks just aren't as good as people claim.

not really, Tinkerer, imo, is a pretty medicore perk.

you get the info which gen is about to pop and a time imited stealth ability, however a vast majority of killers cant really use that to their advantage to stop the gen, as they lack the map coverage to get there in time.

Its definitely a good perk on high mobility killers and when combined with other perks (Ruin) can be very devestating, however on its own i dont think its anywhere near as good as some other Perks such as Infectious Fright, A Nurses Calling or Pop Goes The Weasel (to name a few).

Wouldn't say the number one killer perk. But definitely one of the best.

I agree it is a little over-buffed. It's not crazy good like ruin/undying but sometimes the killer gets freebies on another player accidentally. It's a perk that doesn't require the killer to do anything as well. I like the perk though but sometimes it just destroyes my team purely because of the perk and not the killer.
