I have lost all my fun in this game..
It has been like this for months.. I still doesn’t have the slightest interest in getting back to this game.
Nothing in this game is fun for me anymore. All games are stressful, and I need to bear all kinds of toxicity and bullshits in this game.
Sometimes I tried to do a fun build. But why would it be fun when the other side try as hard as they could to win the game? And if I try to win like they do, it is stressful and not fun. This is especially true when playing as killer, which is the role I play the most.
Every time I want to boot up the game, I got the strange feeling that keeps me away from it. I can’t even put my mouse cursor over the game icon.
Does anyone feel the same like this? Or any past experiences?

I still have fun trying to get better at survivor. And getting drunk and swfing on a Friday Saturday night is a blast.
But I am definitely trying to find ways to make killer fresh again. I have recently been playing 2 survivor games, then playing as the last killer i faced with their build. That keeps it interesting. So far.

I'm still very into it because I've put 1,000 hours into survivor and haven't played a ton of killer, so it's almost like there's an entire half of the game I still haven't experienced a lot of.

I think the problem is that to win as a Killer, you need to put intense pressure on the survivors. To win as a Survivor, you have to put intense gen pressure on the Killer. I can't blame a team of Survivors for immediately putting on the pressure, as if you don't put this pressure on early, and it is a good killer, or a try hard killer, then you will probably lose. Likewise for the Killer, if you mess up your first few chases, or lose a key generator early, you will probably lose.
So often if you are playing as a newbie killer, or playing a meme build or generally messing around, you're just going to lose almost immediately. Even after a bad start as a Killer, not always will survivors drop this pressure, as the game can change in an instant.
On both sides you can have bad games too, a survivor could get unlucky with a facecamping Bubba, or someone who suicides on hook. A Killer could get a 4 man OoO SWF sweat squad, or a game which is in the bag could suddenly be lost because someone found a key. Therefore you have to take your victories when you can, so I don't really blame anyone for sweating on either side.
I feel it's more of a game design issue that makes this game so sweaty and stressful (more so for the Killer).

I just play Nurse nowadays and take long breaks, after the Undying nerf around 85% of the killer roster won't be able to compete at a good level. It's clear as day with the state of the game and the direction it's going.

It's a really, really stressful game. I feel this way about my first love, Super Smash Bros. I actually play Smash competitively (enter tournaments and have won small bits of money here and there competing at smaller locals). Love the game, but once I reached a certain threshold of multiple factors, it just felt even too stressful to turn on the game half of the time.
DBD hasn't quite reached that point for me, but I do find that I enjoy the game much more when I take small breaks here and there (usually just a single day or two) and then go back to play a bit. People who put high expectations on themselves to win or who have a highly competitive nature will have a much harder time taking the game in a chill and relaxed manner, obviously, and this will almost always lead to more stress. At least, that's what I've noticed and experienced for myself.
For you, I'd really just suggest that if you DO want to play, take a break from the side you usually play, and go for the other role. I mainly play survivor and I must admit that lately I have been considering playing killer more often. You might enjoy playing a little bit more survivor, especially if you can find a couple of friends to play with. :)

Yeah because killers had it so rough before Undying. (eyeroll)
The problem is for the past few months a lot of killers have used Undying as a crutch to play. I don't even have Undying unlocked and still have no issues as killer.

Spoken like a true survivor main. Do you know how frustrating a match can be without a reliable form of gen slow down? Do you think we should go back to the days of Ruin being cleansed in 20 seconds? Go play killer and go up against 4 DS+UB's before you talk about crutch perks.
That's how the games been for me since April last year. Even when the twins came out I didn't even log on. I even have enough shards to unlock them for free and I don't want them. I actually want more killers to leave the game. It seems to be the only time the devs truly do something about balance. When their cosmetic buying survivors can't find a game.

It's getting there quickly
Last night, six GD games in a row as killer against the sweaty SWF squads. Everyone has DS, Unbreakable, Dead Hard, and some random fourth perk that is also designed to ruin any fun. And you can tell these are SWFs too because two of the games, that fourth perk was Head On and so they'd lead chases right to their head-on buddies (there's about a two percent chance that that happens organically). I was so incredibly frustrated and pissed away almost two hours of my life not being some badass killer but being four ######### plaything that only existed for them to feel superior to by doing everything they could to make it a sucky experience...
Then this morning, I boot up as survivor. First game, I get left on the hook as everyone is too busy hiding with five gens left to help and then second game playing against Ghost Face and getting another game of "he stares at me while I stare at him but he exposes me because the reveal mechanic has just stopped working"
Having fun but fair matches seems to be rarer and rarer and rarer as time goes on. I have no issues with losing (as a solo queuer, I EXPECT to die every match) but losing with fun and losing because it's broken are two very different feelings...
3 -
Oof,i miss these close matches where everybody gets a chance to outplay the other side but now it's just stomp or get stomped :(
5 -
This is the problem. Lol. The bottom 50% of killers just wanna M1 a few times, BBQ, and do it again. They refuse to get better and learn how to mindgame or apply pressure. Its sad.
1 -
Honestly, that's part of the other issue too. I don't know if it's the matchmaking or what. There are very few close games where I've won or lost by the skin of my teeth. THOSE are the games that make the game fun and they're rarer and rarer and rarer the longer I play.
Now I'd say 80% of my games are a curb stomping; either I get curb stomped or I am curb stomping and neither of those games are all that much fun...

Yeah, I've been getting very bored and frustrated with this game recently.
I'll play a couple matches of survivor and killer then I'll just stop playing after that. Nothing in this game really interests me anymore and I'd rather not have a migraine after playing a game (Especially as killer).

I'm not having fun on the game either to be honest with you.
When I play survivor, I get outclassed by the killer nearly every game because I play with my friend who is rank like 15.
When I play killer, all I get is outclassed by sweaty SWF lobbies. T bagging every pallet drop, body blocking the hook, gen rushing, going down on pallets or at lockers on purpose so you can't pick them up, flashlight to the face every 2 seconds, flashlight clicking, people glitching on gens.
It's just absolutely sweatyness every game. I'm actually been thinking it might be time for a new game. I don't think this game will be in my future as much.
Even my friend who is like rank 15 has got bored already of the game. Even he's not having fun going up against rank 2 nurses who are just camping.

when i play killer and face a toxic swf i definitely rage quits the game . i dont care being banned on the game. my mental health is important than playing the toxic game. fyi i already banned 5 times with total now 48 hours . so i can play again by this monday. but i dont care i rather enjoy playing story game on open world map ; watch dogs legion or GTA V.

Same I'm pretty burned out and are just messing around with Doctor right now camping with NOED, because I'm so tired of chasing around both as killer and survivor. Camping is underrated I have to say get 4k every game more or less. Even red rank SWFs simply can't counter this.

I think The Archives and the constant Rift grind played a larger role in burning me out than the game itself. I binged to get the rewards and was left feeling unfulfilled. So now I usually only queue up when I have a buddy to play with.
I still find this game fun... I guess I've been taking Mathieu's advice and playing some other games for awhile. :)
1 -
Yeah I hate battlepass like systems. Forcing you to grind for a period of time or you'll miss out. By the time you get what you wanted you don't want to play the game anymore. Than 6 months later the thing you worked for is now in the store for $4. Battle passes give you a lot of players for a brief amount of time but the retention is crap.
3 -
Shhh! You're not allowed to say that around here! Everyone knows how bad killers have it... Poor things. ☹️
2 -
It is okay to stop playing the game. If you lose interest in the game just stop and play something else.
It is not okay to create a thread saying "I'm quitting this game" those are lame, so thank you for not making one of those dumb posts.

I'm just tired of BHVR's poor decisions. It was already getting stale for me and then I see BHVR releasing A Binding of Kin unfinished after a messy event. Then the colorblind situation, honestly it's quite frustrating.
4 -
I agree 100%.Everything takes so damn long and they still manage to screw it up everytime.
It's just extremely frustrating how bad BHVR handles this game.It could be so much better in the right hands but unfortunately we have to deal with this.
I just hope that another big company creates a game in this genre so that BHVR will finally be forced to make serious improvements.

The two roles are difficult perhaps in a slightly different way, but you experience different pressure.
I suggest you to switch to a position where you feel less stressed, enjoy the atmosphere of survival and do not trust your team 100%.
Because you can never know if they're playing seriously, if they're going to save you or kill themselves on the first hook or DC, because they don't want to play with that killer.
Trust yourself and plan your game carefully.
With or without them you can escape, as long as you do it right. And with that, you enjoy and don't feel disappointed because of them.
I’ve had a lot of games like that when the survivors gave up too soon, or didn’t help whoever needed to.
They made mistakes, ran too early to save someone.
Were in front of the killer when he used a saw that could take them all down with one hit.
I have experienced such disappointing games but I didn't let it affect me adversely or be disappointed that I bought the game.
I just always say "I play my way. It's not my fault what they did."
-
I also suggest you close the chat to avoid texts from mean players.
If you're playing a killer, and there's a mean survivor who Tbag you,
Don't get angry and remember that it can be to your advantage. You can take him down while he wastes his time.
If all the survivors have escaped and they are at the exit gate, don't go to them. Save yourself from seeing them act like fools.
Take a break from the game if you feel like you need to.
Play a match or two with friends only. only 5 of you having fun with custom games.
Or find nice people to play with, there are some of them around.
-
I hope you continue to enjoy the game and that no one will ruin your experience.
I would even love to play with you, I play for fun.

This game has a limited amount of fun it can give out. For some people, it's 50 hours, for others it's 500. For the diehard, it's 5000. You get the point, there's a number for everyone, and it sounds like it came up for you. Just because you invested a lot of hours and money into the game, it doesn't mean you're bound to it for life, unless it's your job-- and even then, you can always take a vacation from it.

I’m the same. New killer doesn’t even hype me up, and I don’t even bother to earn shards to unlock her, which I usually did in the past
1 -
Me too. I was away for months, and when I came back, the matches are even more unbalanced. Either a stomp, or being stomped.
Survivors’ behaviour are getting worse too.
Agree. It almost feel like BHVR makes this game just a pay check for them. Do the bare minimum, and get the maximum profit.
2 -
Yes of course. But I didn’t do it because my internet is slow. If I uninstall the game, it’ll take a huge time to install back in case my interest is back.

Last time I started up the game was well before the Christmas event ended.
I'll probably start up again when the next Tome comes out. Maybe. The challenges are a nice change of pace, but in general the game's usually fun for a little bit and then I burn out.

Sorry for the late reply - uhhh I am not a survivor main. I don't need Ruin+Undying for gen/map control. I main The Doctor...and the only gen perk I use is Overcharge. I have thought about trying him out with Oppression, but I don't have issues with my current build. Do I 4k every match?? Nope - but then again I shouldn't 4k every match because that would mean there is some serious balance issues. I also don't need to 4k every round to reap BP. I easily make 1 million BP in 3-3.5 hours depending on the time of day. Then again I also like a challenge and don't think either side should be easy to "win."
As a survivor I don't really care if people have Ruin + Undying - I mean it's easy to counter; much like NOED - just cleanse totems. As a survivor I check a gen at beginning of match - if there is Ruin I find the Hex... if it's still up then I take 2 minutes and go cleanse the rest of the totems while everyone else does their thing. I just find it hilarious how much of a crutch the combo has become for people to "win." Of all my friends who main killer - NONE - of them use this combo because 1. They knew it was OP and would be nerfed and 2. They don't need it to do well.

I main trapper and I need some form of slow down because my killer requires time to setup. Or his power is useless. I go with corrupt intervention because it only requires 1 perk. I too feel I don't need to 4k every match to have fun and I want the game to be challenging for both sides. Which is why I feel survivors have too many strong perks. You try not to be bias but honestly I feel one side is too powerful and the other gets patched pretty damn quick by comparison.

alright i have a few suggestions. for killer, derank till you get to green ranks and lobby dodge when you see a swf (you can just tell).
for survivor, use fun perk builds idk
