Demo is so broken...
So I was playing with a friend today and we were playing against a Demo and this happened:
So I asked my friend if he saw a portal before the Demo started coming out of it and he didnt, also mentioned that he never got an option to close it, which means that it's not that it was invisible, it just wasnt there... I dont know if this is actually a broken thing with the character or if we were facing a hacker but... It should be looked that.
I also want to mention that his recovery add-ons dont work anymore for some reason, found out after some testing on private matches.

Demos portals aren't visible until he uses it.

I’m pretty sure his portal must haven’t been activated yet. When Demo places down a portal, survivors can’t see the portals when it’s not activated yet. When he teleports to the portal or if he teleports through it, it’s activated and survivor’s can see it.

that is how his portals work, you can't see or hear them until he uses them so that means you guys just didn't notice him placing it there.

The portal was there the whole time, you just don't see it until it's used at least once.

Demo's portals do not become visible and closeable until after he's used them at least once. What you saw is completely intended. They also do not inflict oblivious or allow for Killer Instinct tracking while they are hidden.

Like everyone else said can't see them until they use it. Since they're not a highly played killer certain mechanics like this go under the radar.

I wouldn't take it too hard on OP. He genuinely doesn't seem to know and I wouldn't blame him considering demo came out a long while ago and you barely see him be played.
Survivors don't see an inactive portal. Demo can only place inactive portals on the ground and it gets activated only if it's used. When it is used, survivors can seal the portal. Survivors on or near an active portal will be oblivious (you can't hear killer's TR) and demo can track you as long as you are on it. Portal in it's inactive state is pretty much used only for travelling.

LMAO, thanks to everyone for clarifying that.
I've faced Demo like 4-5 times since I came back 3 months ago and he came out when I was having a break from the game so looks like I didnt even know how his portales work.

I can understand when something surprises you. The first time i saw the map addon which marks a location i was confused too.
But is it so hard to read the ingame description or atleast google it? Its a lot quicker.
And its nothing about you specific but this is a example that players dont know the game. And i bet 90% of the complainers in this forum are the same.

I got reported for hacks by a SWF a few months back because my Hag traps didn't make noise or show a phantasm. I told them to read the text of my Rusty Shackles addon but they refused. My fault for being a dirty cheater.
In fairness though theres now 22 killers with 20 addons each and roughly 100,000 perks. Thats a lot of information for new players to learn

This is why playing both sides help. If you play killer you'll understand how to counter and play around a killers power. But if you're new to the game I completely understand. Both of you should play killer when you're not playing with friends.

Same I only found out recently when I searched the wiki on Google but I had to specifically type in Portals and was looking or something else entirely about portals and I seen that in there I was like really never knew that. And I've played to P2 on him I'm 98% sure it does not say that in his power description on the game what could be wrong

I’m gradually starting to see more and more Demo’s as time passes, especially recently, in Rank 1, and 99% of them are extraordinarily good with the pressure they exert with their constant portal use. They just decimate in the games I’ve been in.
He’s the kind of killer where it’s taken a large amount of time for players to refine how they use his kit to its full potential.

Lol, geez, it’s right there in his little power widget when you hover your cursor over it.
This explains to me finally why so many Demo’s in the early months of his release didn’t bother using his portals. They must have thought the same as you, and also maybe thought “why bother? Survivors will cleanse them before I can use them.”
