Survivor Specific Abilities

So there is very little diversity for survivors, you'll usually see the same characters over and over again. I think something to change this would be survivor specific abilities (or boosts). Similarly to killers survivors could have their own (character orientated) powers

Claudette - Heal teammates faster
Ace - Give luck to other survivors
Meg - Has a slightly boosted running speed

These are just a few examples
I would really like to see some diversity and have a reason to play other survivors

Boosting survivor speed could be bad, but maybe if she recovered from exhaustion faster instead.

You would need to add some weaknesses as well. Maybe limit Claudettes vision in some fashion (auras or whatever), Meg might be bad at skill checks with a reduced arc, etc etc. Would need to be balanced in some fashion just like the Killers are with different movement speeds to make up for their abilities. I really can't see them revisiting every Survivor and giving them a buff/malus that is lore friendly and in character for them. Would be a tremendous amount of work for limited gain imo.

Most people would play anyone who had a boosted running speed in any event because of looping. Who would care about healing when you aren't getting caught? You might have some SWFs who specialize with X person being a Medic and Y person being the taunter/runner, but most solo queue'ers would just pick the one who could survive easiest unless they were doing something similar to RP'ing.

Word, I like traits but in this game it will create tiers, once peeps vault faster, run faster, pull pallets faster it creates extra stuff and is gonna be rough on killers. This ultimately affects stats and on that note killers would need their own stat effects and adjustments besides just movement speed. Maybe making the survivors own perks more effective on them but slightly. And making the teachables not so effective or have a downside to balance it out. This opens the window to many complex issues that just means a big buff to survivors when devs are trying ti buff killers. Even for faster heals, devs trynna slow the game down. So would be dope to have traits but gotta see how the killer buffs go because they are really needed. The survivor traits should be small as to not break the game and have a not so useful trait or a negative to balance it out as the game is survivor sided already. Those with traits to help in chase should receive a penalty to repair.

Claudette has an aura reading perk called Empathy...it doesn’t make much sense to have a downfall be she has limited aura reading abilities but I do see where you are coming from with downsides.

I mean when they say “slightly boosted” running speed there are talking about having a 150% running speed Meg running across the map. If she DID have a slightly faster running speed it would be like always having the Hope perk equipped with a (I think) 107/108% running speed. However that would be slightly OP so I don’t see the devs revisiting survivors abilites anytime soon.

No one said 150% any speed boosts that are permanently are op especially since blood lust nerf. It effects window hits, pallets, loops etc. I would stop playing dbd if survivors had a permanent speed boost cause that's all you would see. 4 toolbox self care. urban evasion, quick n quiet, sprint burst megs. I would be the only detective tapp and get singled out and get farmed by the man lookin megs.

Got a couple of ideas, the idea about this is actually pretty good, it makes diversity about survivors since killers already has their powers.
imo, this should be like survivor's very small passive ability, rather than playing with just 1 survivor but with different models and voice lines.

Dwight : Increase locker interaction speed by 80% Other Survivors can now see your aura in a range of 16m(but you can't see them)

Meg : fast vault action speed reduced to 0.45s for high momentum fast vault, and 0.9 for low momentum fast vault

Claudette : Healing speed when using med-kit increased by 5%

Jake : Sabotage speed speed when using tool-box is increased by 5%

Nea : Now can Mori other survivor Crouching while injured reduces grunts of pain by 5% and increases crouching speed by 3% (stacks with urban evasion)

Bill : Getting hit to dying state now gives you a bleed-out timer with a 3 seconds duration.

David : Exhaustion can now be recovered during chases and running but at very very slow rate. 40s -> 3min, 50s -> 4min, 60s -> 5min.

Laurie : Increases the chances to be the obsession by 3% if killer or her self brought obsession perk, otherwise 0%. Once she becomes the obsession, increases movement speed by 2%(i was thinking of 3% but 3 is abit too much) for the entire match. If killer and other survivor brought obsession perk but not her self, Laurie will not be prioritised. If Laurie and other survivor brought an obsession perk, both will be randomized but laurie has a 3% more chance on acquiring obsession mark(53% vs 47%).

Ace : Increases chest searching speed by 10%

Feng Min : Get's notified when looking at direction of the killer(40m), doesn't notified stealth abilities (Wraith Cloak, Insidious, EW1, Pig's crouch etc.). *Note : doesn't show aura, similar like spine chill but no speed action increases.

Quentin : Healing, Waking up, other aultruistic action and Snap out of it reveals your aura to other survivor by 32m. Non-healing actions gives 5% of action speed increased.

Tapp : Generator's skillcheck now have increased zone for both normal and great skillcheck by 5%

Kate : Increases wiggling speed by 5%

    Adam : Need suggestions

These passives are NOT suppose to be OP, it just makes these survivors to have something like.... "signature move", so if you think it should be nerfed then it should be nerfed so that people's can experiment other perks that synergize with the passives but also still viable for a troll build or dumb funny build.

The movement speed buffs for whole match secures loop so yeh lol. Anything movement speed is strong and becomes pay to win almost. But I like the ideas!

Yea true, could be 1% if it requires to be nerfed, I wonder if Feng Min is fine though..

I think if a charakter uses his or her own perks, then there should be a synergy bonus, however he might look like.
