About Pyramid Head and the last changes he received

To preface this, yes I main PH but I typically play both sides equally.

Back in late September, he received very questionable changes to power. These include:

  • After cancelling Rites of Judgement:
  • Movement speed is 3.68 m/s for 1 second
  • Further attacks cannot be made for 1 second
  • Cooldown before further attacks after Punishment of the Damned reduced from 2.75 seconds to 2.25 seconds

This was supposedly to stop people from doing m2 into m1 at windows/pallets (Which was needed), but Otzdarva proved it was still possible with practice.

They also decreased the recovery on Punishment of the Damned to be faster than a basic attack. which was not the right call, as this will lead to people cornering you and spamming Punishment.

With all these changes, PH feels very mishandled and clunky.

Let's think up a scenario: You spawn in a trial as PH on Mother's Dwelling. Your first goal is to find a survivor, so you go patrol the generators. Since you are PH, you have to leave trails to get use out of your cages, so you leave a small amount of trail at most important loops in your path. But congrats! Because you decided to use your power, you are punished for it. For every loop you trap, you go 8% slower than survivors for 2 seconds. That will add up quickly, especially on big maps like the one in this scenario.

If you use your power a lot to trap areas, just imagine it as having to crouch as Ghostface for an entire 1/3 of the game.

The point is, the slowdown is extremely unnecessary and hurts PH in both strength and fun-factor. It's extremely frustrating to have so many shifts in movement speed when trying to use your power. It's not like Huntress or Deathslinger either, where they have range to make their slowdown needed, and at least in their case, it feels natural.

Honestly, just reverting the slowdown would make him feel so much better. If they are set on keeping the slowdown, then revert the Punishment recovery and let it apply Torment. Or better yet, add more range that scales with how much of your gauge you used.

Semi-rant over, I would love to hear your thoughts on the matter.
