My first game since 2 weeks
SO im gonna tell you the story about my game, and then I demand Advice on what to do in these kind of situation^^
Build: BBQ/ STBFL/ Tinkerer/Ruin
I played as Clown on Yamaoka estate ( not the one with the house, the one with the big stairs in the middle) And I went to the wrong Gens first, But Tinkerer helped me out and I got to the first one in time to get a hit on one of them and the other one ran away.
I go after the injured person and as I down her the second gen is showed via Tinkerer.
I leave the downed person slugged to protect my gen, i see only one person as I get there, she runs away with sprintburst, but I fugured the gen is to far progressed for one person, so i check behind and grab a person that wanted to desperately finish the gen.
Grab worked! nice to see, but oh no who would have guessed? DC...
So games kinda over, 1 slug one dead and 0 gens done. thinking to myself I play it out, two hook everyone and let the last person go.
Game goes on, some easy chases until the second person dies on deathhook.
And now it begins.
See im on ps4, fps are bad, i cant see very good on this super dark map either. And the survivors just hide.
2 gens are nearly completed (my ruin got destroyed in the meantime) I kick the gens and guard them a bit until they are regressed so tinkerer can show up again.
And then I searched the two survivors for 20!!! minutes.
They did nothing but hide in this time. I swear to god, they were both crouching around with urban evasion for 20 whole minutes.
I found a feng and since They wanted to waste my time I decided to try not giving hatch. I have 4 minutes time to find the other one before feng bleeds out. And I did manage to get the crouching dwight too.
But this was a 30 minute game, I would have DCd for sure if it wasnt for the penalty.
So What to do in a situation like this? I have limited time to play the game, i didnt want to afk because there was the chance of finding them any second, but it took so long.
Would it be bad to buff afk crows? that they show up when theres no progress being done for like 3 minutes?
I usually run whispers on other killers, but if I dont have a special perk equipped it can be super hard to find surviors that are doing nothing.
Any suggestions on how o deal with that? Thx :)

There is no really a good way to deal with that. I guess with 20 minutes you can report them afterward for holding the game hostage, but i dont know how effective this is. And it doesnt help you finish the match.

trying to not get killed if it was a 3 gen situation isn't "holding the game hostage" (not saying this one was but in those I would do the same thing) it's waiting for the other guy to be stupid or unlucky rather than being stupid yourself, so that you can be the one that gets the hatch.

Breathing and grass sounds are your only hopes in these scenarios. If you get used to listening for them you will find survivors much easier.

there were 6 gens on the map ( 4 left to be completed) they simply waited for he other one to die and didnt do anything then hide for 20 minutes.

Regardless of wether or not there was a 3 gen or not, letting the game carry on for 20 minutes doing nothing to even attempt to progress is pretty much holding a match hostage. The killer can't exactly wave a magic wand and make them appear, and if they are constantly creeping around the map, it's incredibly difficult to even spot them unless they somehow mess up. Survivors should just learn to take a bullet and just risk it instead of constantly hiding the entire match. If you're going to lose, you're going to lose. No need to waste the killers time because of it.

Well yes, thats what I thought, but I want advice on what to do then^^
Its not a rare occurance this happens too, sure its not 20 minutes most of the time, but many survivors will wait hours to get hatch.
I dont want to DC because if I get a few games in a row where this happens I get punished + I literally won the match already.
I dont want to AFK too because why even play then?

I know what you mean. Honestly, unless you're running Stridor or Whispers, you're outta luck unless you manage to spot them in the distance or they ran for a split second and left scratches. I've had the exact same matches before. I got fairly lucky when I had a couple of them though since I was Ghostface, so they sometimes looked at me and indicated they were close since they were almost breaking me out. Since you were playing Clown, if it happens in the future, maybe start just spray and pray the bottles? Throw them into areas where it seems a good hiding spot, see if you could make them scream or give some kind of indication they're close. Other than that, there's not much else you could do really

we once had a blight bouncing around between a pair gens so close they were within eyesight of one another, the last other guy alive and I spent about ten minutes trying to work on them but kept being chased off until we started each hoping the other would get caught (I assume it was the same with him when we bumped into each other creeping around the map on the side opposite the gens lmao) and the blight finally opened the door and let us out. he said he got bored and laughed about it, and understood the situation.
He probably wasn't upset because we spent a good long time trying to get the last gen but could not make more progress than was lost because of the killer power and proximity of the gens. it couldn't be done without a sacrifice neither of us was willing to make though I did try to lure the killer away from the gens but he was smart enough to not chase me out into the map and immediately went back to bouncing between the gens. basically that we tried, but, it came to a point where it just wasn't possible and you can't expect somebody to walk out in the open, stand there and just let you kill them.
Once in a while you'll find yourself in a situation like that as either a survivor or a killer. If it wasn't that sort of situation with your guys though then yeah they were probably figuring their teammates were bad and each was hoping to get the hatch and it just didn't work out that way that time for them is all. In the sort of situation You had, it would probably have been one of those teams where I'd have already decided once it came time I wouldn't struggle on the hook based on what theyw ere and weren't doing in the game. It sounds as if they weren't doing much the whole entire game. I wouldn't be surprised if 3 of them were all hoping for the hatch before the only one doing generators even finished the first one for them.

Okay in your example the killer was the one making progression impossible, however you could have gotten out by just letting him get you.
I couldnt do this. I could not find them on a big dark map with a killer who has the most standard mobillity and no tracking tools except some bottles.
They could have played 2 other games in this time but they just hid.
NOTE:
Its was all red ranks, just to be clear, no "new player scared of the spooky killer"
juts selfish survivors who held the game hostage. And this shouldnt happen imo. there should be a mechanic that prevents this situatin.
Even if hatch opened and one guy gets it the other one just dies instantly because the entity isnt fine with it.

the egc exists so the last guy can't do that, but yeah for the last Two guys, there isn't much that can be done besides letting them out or them letting you kill them besides disconnections. when they have multiple gens left it should be clear to themselves they lost though lol. I wonder what their typical queue lengths are though, because they may have not seen it as so much of a waste of their own time as you did if they still had 10 to 20 minute queue lengths. They probably had more fun hiding in game than in a lobby hunt as awful as it sounds lmao.
