Killer Exposed Effect lasts far too long
Exposed should not last longer than 30-60 seconds. It lasts so long that the killer can easily down all four players. Has anyone seen anything about them nerfing that perk?

Don't most Exposed-status perks or killers last that long? The only examples I could think of that don't are Hex: Devour Hope, NOED, and Infinite Tier 3 Myers.. and two of those can be solved rather quickly. Infinite Tier 3 Myers... good luck.

Which perk?
Iron Maiden lasts like 10 seconds? (gonna be buffed)
Haunted Grounds lasts 60 seconds
NoEd lasts until you cleanse the totem.

60 seconds is too long then. It might just feel longer because I am running for my life!

Haunted grounds and MYC are 60 seconds
Devour hope and Noed are up until they get cleansed in some case that's less than 15 seconds
DG is 45 seconds
Iron Maiden is 10 seconds (soon to be 30 I think)
Ghostface and Myers depends on add-ons
The twins add-on only give 12 sec ( I remember correctly) and it's conditional
Deathslinger's add-on sucks and is super conditional
Perk wise the only indefinite on you can do anything about it rancor and it's it needs the last gen to be complete you can't just go immersed until gates are open
Huntress and Clown are the only problematic ones

This sounds like it's in response to Haunted Ground or T3 Myers. If you are constantly getting slugged and 4k'd then my suggestion is working around the time limit as best you can. Don't spend that time healing, and try not to group up too much.

If you are in chase you'll have to deal with it. It's a long time but make it shorter and Haunted Grounds becomes a junk level perk.
That's the game you gotta live with it. Killers should not be impotent and making Haunted Grounds a 30 second perk or something to that effect would make it a 100% trash tier perk.

A week ago I would have countered this by saying "DS is 60 secs long" but with the upcoming changes. I can live with it.

When it gets here. When you get unhooked. If you repair a gen, heal yourself, cleanse a totem, unhook someone or sabo the hook you will lose your DS. It will still counter tunneling but you can't abuse it anymore. Like if you get unhooked and do a gen in the killer's face, you will lose your DS. You can't get unhooked, save someone and then DS anymore. Lockers still work. You DO NOT lose DS if your team is healing you.

Not that long at all as you should be stealthy while it's active. If your already in chase your options are to run out the time (when possible) or break chase to force them into looking for someone else. It's intense moments like these that make matches interesting.

Just fyi, all of Myers add ons that make Tier 3 last longer also make it take more to reach Tier 3 the first time.

I think its a fair nerf. Still get the anti tunnel, but they can still be healed, can search a chest, open exit gates, use maps and keys, and they can still jump in a locker to make the stun extra long if they know they're gonna get caught. Plus they can do killer specific actions like wake up, mend, snap out of it, cleanse at a pool of devotion, search a jigsaw box, and disarm traps.

I feel it is also fair. It will still be meta IMO. Unlike when MoM got reworked. Though the forums are filled with people crying about it. The only people who will get butt hurt over this change are the ones who got unhooked and deliberately got in the killer's face because they had DS.

Thanks for the information. I am confused though since that perk already exists, but since I do not use it, I donβt know much about it. I thought you can only use it once per game? Is that not true?

You can only use it once per game, yes. The issue is at high ranks almost every survivor brings it. So it's 4 DS's sometimes. The main issue is killers who don't tunnel were getting hit by DS because they were playing well. Often I would hook survivor A and I would leave. Id find and hook survivor B. Survivor A saves B. I don't want to tunnel so I hit survivor A. Survivor A still had DS. No matter who I picked it was a lose/lose situation. I've had this happen to me so many times. I chased, downed and hooked someone else. I wasn't tunneling and yet I still got hit by DS. 60 secs is way too long. It didn't help that the devs nerfed pop goes the weasel to 45 seconds and their reason was "60 secs is too long". People asked "Kinda like DS?" and they never responded. Some survivors flat out repaired gens injured. If the killer grabbed them off the gen they DS. If the killer left them bleeding on the ground to avoid DS, they would revive themselves with Unbreakable. This one perk has been the source of so many discussions since it's introduction 4 years ago. I hope this change will finally balance it without making it useless.

Ahh, I see. But as someone who doesnβt use either of the perks, I still donβt see how the exposed effect is nerfed.

DS has nothing to do with expose. I was just saying before the DS changes I would have said "You complain 60 secs is too long for expose but DS is still 60 secs?".

These devs haven't learned one of the most basic of game design truths - people don't like being one shot.

The time is fine. 60s isn't much if you haven't exhausted all nearby loops. Bear in mind that will also be time getting to the survivor not just chase time. The only things wrong with expose is stealth killers that can 99 the expose. A exploit that should be addressed.

99 Expose is one of those issues things that should be fixed.
Everything survivors can 99 has been nerfed with the exception of the exit gates. And killers are still trying to get that nerfed. GF, Oni and Myers 99'ing things needs to be removed as well. 99 Sabo was a much smaller and extremely niche issue frankly but it still got nerfed.

The most common forms of exposed already only last 30-60 seconds... what do you mean? The only other exceptions are like NoED which doesn't trigger till the end of the match, and Devour hope which is also a hex that the killer needs to stack by hooking people first before it starts, one of which you can dismantle the hex before the stacks even reach that high.

survivors can 99% heal themselves to get benefit out of perks, survivors can 99% the chests and get the benefit of plunderer's, survivors can 99% the doors and benefit getting out of the match with no egc to worry about unless killer decides to open the door to force the EGC, you can 99% all 7 gens and then suddenly pop 5 gens almost at once. please tell me what else you'd like to 99%? currently the only killers that can 99% their powers are ghost face and myers. with myers it's tactical and a tiny bit less tactical with GF that he can 99% you! oh wait the mark you get from GF does decay over time. so all the killer can 99% is myers and he has a limited amount of SUCK available per survivor and at some point he gets no more tier 3.
what 99% do you want the killers to not get to do? lets make gens require constant interaction, if not touched for 3 seconds the gen goes from 99.9% to 0! chests need to be opened in one shot or like totems they go to 0. if you don't heal in 5 seconds after you stop healing you go back to 0...
would you like to rethink your position if not I'd love to see how you reacted to the survivors not being able to stop doing things or else their work is wasted. if you make it so myers can't stop stalking he would loose that amount of stalk from a survivor as it's been pulled from the survivor and it doesn't go back! oh if you want to make it so myers can't keep partial stalk, survivors can not break stalk by getting behind the walls or trees etc.

I think about a scenario. Example both Dwight & Meg on hook, then both get unhooked. Somehow another on chase and another on Gen far away. Both of them being alone healing each other.
Dwight can fully heal Meg. Meg healthy but still have DS, Dwight injured but DS is gone.
For me, the requirement should be "healed" instead of healing

Honestly thatβs part of the problem! So many leather faces seem to camp so that we canβt all end up separated. We have to distract to get him off of people so everyone in this forum saying βoh just stay apartβ clearly doesnβt know what itβs like.
