Killer Tunnel Camp

Killers camping should have a higher consequence. Is there a consequence for tunneling?

There are no consequences and the devs do not want there to be which i completely disagree with. They claim without tunneling, camping and slugging the games would be too similar even tho they are too similar these days due to how many killers do these three things so frequently.

Camping and tunnelling aren't really the same thing and should not be used interchangably.

Anyway, the consequence is that it isn't a particularly good way to win games. If the Killer is utterly hellbent on murdering lOopgOd69 because she teabagged too many times, and is sitting next to the hook waiting for her to die, crack on with Generators and you'll have the Exit Gates powered by the time she's dead.

Ultimately camping will usually secure one kill for the Killer, though. You need to come to terms with that. If you CAN pull off a rescue, that's great, but more likely you'll just trade places on the hook. Which can also definitely buy you more time and grant an advantage, so it's still potentially worth trying if one of you is running Borrowed Time for example.

Tunnelling can be a different issue, as getting a Survivor out of the match early is genuinely very important for Killers. One should bear in mind however that there's a difference between tunnelling and simply prioritising targets well. A Killer isn't under any obligation to chase someone who very clearly wants to be chased and is clicking a flashlight, when they can see an injured Survivor who they know is on death hook and isn't a good looper.

It's actually a lot like the issue with "fixing" camping. Camping is terrible, but defending a hook isn't. Tunnelling is terrible, but basic target prioritisation isn't. Unfortunately much like camping, it's tough for BHVR to design mechanics that don't conflate the two ideas and punish Killers even while they're behaving reasonably.

Camping and tunnelling are effective because survivors are stupid enough to try and make the save, giving the killer more points in the process. Stop letting the killer get away with it by simply doing gens and escaping.

Putting systems in place to stop camping/tunnelling will only ruin it for the killers who try to play "fair", because those who don't simply don't care either way.

You will never stop such behaviour, because there are always players who go into games - not just DBD - to ruin everyone else's fun. Deal with it.

In my experience "y'all can simply do gens and escape while the killer is camping" thing never happens.🤔 I only play solo and at most you can expect 3 gens to be done during that time. There isn't really a consequence to camping or tunneling and ruining someone else's gameplay experience. I get that towards the end of the game those could be used as a strategy but when it's early on in the game... i don't know. It's not a pleasant feeling to have a 2 minute game for which you've waited 10 minutes on the queue... 😐️

There should be no consequence. Its a play style. Its not cheating or anything like that. Its basically getting a consequence for playing the game. That should not happen. At all. Its their choice to play that way and if its not cheating or anything that's fine with me.
