I need some help with landing close chainsaws with Billy if possible

I know when to use his chainsaw and all of the mobility uses for it, but I can't seem to consistently hit survivors running up to me because I lose them. I say if possible because this seems to be more mechanically intensive rather than strategy, but still.

Is there something I am missing or doing wrong? Any tip for this will be appreciated.

When trying to chainsaw in close quarters, get the rev to 90% then feather it. Typically, survivors will start to run circles around you and try to make you sprint off. Feather the chainsaw until they give up on 360ing you and they start to run. That's when you strike.

It is very hard to get close quarters chainsaw hits with billy, so I feel your pain
