Alert Perk Does Not Show Aura

When the killer performs an action (break pallet, damage generator), there is an audio warning, but their aura is not revealed.

Could the killer have been in the undetectable state? Alert doesn't reveal cloaked Wraith, Night Shroud Ghostface, Tier 1 Myers or a crouching Pig.
