Dear devs, do you realize you actually completely broke your game?
This post is not just a free complain without any reason. I like changes, but only if these changes bring you some steps forward, not some steps back!
HUD a part, that is horribile and distracting (the old one was way more efficient, you only had to add the hooks count for the killer), with the new locomotion you actually broke all those peculiar game mechanics that made DbD so famous.
1) That standing idle pose: are you serious? Not only it looks terrible but it's also totally out of context. Who would stand like that with a killer around? Maybe Goku, not a survivor who got trapped in a killer's arena. If you stop for a moment to hide behind something, you're forced to crouch now.
2) Animation transition controller for the locomotion: mechanical with almost zero feel when pressing the keyboard. Even the top players-twitchers can't juke killers anymore and most of them said "what is that!?". Watch the streams! Personally i don't complain too much about it because i play killer more than survivor, and kill survivors has become waaaaay waaay waaay more easy now. I got rank 1 from 3 yesterday in almost no time. The most experienced surviviros looks like potatoes anyway from killer perspective. They can't actually do nothing like before and go down in a matter of seconds.
If you play the Huntress for example, you can get a survivor like nothing. They can't move that fast left or right, and you get them in almost no time. You'll surely get new killers playing the game but way less survivors. No doubt it.
3) ESC M1 toggle: why? I mean WHY?! That wasn't giving to survivors any advantage at all, a part from the fact that their mouse would live a bit longer without pressing that M1 button all the time! Bruh.
For the rest, the other buff/nerf/rework are fine. You only had to update the old maps and add killer hooks count, period, without touching the things that already worked.
What have you done BHVR.

Agreed, they need to stop changing things that dont need to be changed. Everything was so much better before, i will not play survivor until this bullshit is reverted. They are killing their own game!

So because you can’t abuse the animations like before to juke killers that’s a bad thing? I disagree you can still dodge huntress hatchets you just can’t mindlessly zigzag or rub up against the killer to avoid them

How to kill your own game any% speedrun

If you've read my post, i said i play killer more than survivor, and i wasn't complaining about the "juke" thing because i've never seen it as an "abuse" but a way for a survivor to escape death, and they were pretty smart in doing it, something that i consider a good thing, not a bad thing. I'm not one of those killers who feels frustrated if they lose a game because of one or two good survivors in a game. With Huntress yesterday i was able to catch them in no time, and that wasn't happening before!
Everybody complains about the new locomotion animations, not just me.

That's the recipe for how games getting killed by their own developers.

I don't care about the rest of the animation changes, I don't really see why the change was needed but I don't mind 'em, but that idle stance is absolutely cursed.
And we've all said what we needed to say about the UI.

"they need to stop changing things that dont need to be changed" - Yes, that's the biggest problem with the game now. Apart from the new standing pose, which I don't like, I liked old gens, without the disturbing animation and additional annoying sounds. They really need to stop fixing things that aren't broken

I like the animations, they feel more realistic and smooth. I also disagree on the idle stance. Sure it might be more ideal in a realistic scenario but it just made the cosmetics stretch and look awful. Now they look pretty good!

You know,at the very least i can scare the killer now with these new super cursed animation.

"Devs made changes I didn't like the whole game is dead now ;~;" is all the post really says. As a survivor AND killer player, I really don't have an issue with the new animations. You can't randy-arse zag to the left now to get out of Huntress or Slinger, but like, if they hit you while you're trying to juke they'd have likely hit you anyway. Why is it hard to just stay near terrain and/or change your strategy from randy-arse juking in the open?
2 -
Well to be fair they did openly state on one of their streams that the new survivor animations would only be visual and not change how the survivor moves so the complaints about the new animations are completely valid.
A huntress, slinger pyramid head, billy etc yes should get a hit when they actually hit and that should never be in doubt but when you can't dodge in the same way as previously then it becomes a much easier hit for them. These killers afterall were designed with the past movement in mind along with being able to dodge to create some counter play.

I don't understand why it's hard to play around terrain instead of out in the open and relying on jukes. Terrain still interrupts killer hits.

There should still be an option to juke hits from the killer.
It adds more skill on the survivor and killer side
2 -
Says who? I wouldn't be mad at all if the change got reverted, but I also don't see an issue whatsoever with the update that makes people change how they think about only like 5 positions in a given map.

Whining about jukes is just silly and if you got fooled more than once in a game thats on you. This game doesnt have dodges. You cant jump, roll, dive or duck. The movement is pretty constrained for survivor. That is the single thing that can be done in a dead zone. Usually it fails on any killer that has played past yellow ranks.

that idle stance is funny, that's why it"s so bad it's 100% out of context no tension no nothing on those survivor, they are robot
2 -
lol right now i'm playing killer dont worry. survivor sucks much now, why hate them when i can join fun killing survivor in this patch
0 -
i don't understand this thread at all. only the ANIMATIONS got changed, not the actual movement.
you can't juke like before? that's not the devs fault, just your own.
0 -
no one care about the juke you say? well it's a big part of the game and was (before looping) the intended way to loose a killer.
aslo beyound that the new animation are bad, it fell like you play a robot and has i said before survivor don't seem to be bother by the fact they may die and suffer. Like they are action heroes or something.
1 -
Because when there is no terrain a killer such as those I mentioned gets a down a lot more easily with a lot less counter play.
Again these killers were designed with the ability to dodge in mind and again the patch was not meant to change survivor movements.
This means the animations have to be bugged so players should give feedback as they are clearly not working as they intended them too.

The question then is why was the survivor hanging out where there was no cover? How is that the killers or BHVR's fault?
0 -
Dude, it was animation jank. This just shows the VAST majority of survivors RELIED on animation jank to survive.
Survivors always want more feedback from killers in order to easily predict what they will do next, but killers always had to rely on prediction with the best survivors/mindgames. Well, now, it isn't as simple as seeing the red stain and deciding "oh I'm going this way now" and the killer literally having to read you in the middle of a game to learn what you're likely, but not even garunteed to do.
This didn't take that away, it simply makes it not as simple as having good reaction time. Now you actually have to consider all the turning you're doing and not just rely on trickery that manipulates the autoaim. Sorry I don't feel bad for that crap. Maybe they can actually make some cool Survivor perks without the need to nerf them now.

Sometimes you have no option which any player knows. A gen could be in the open and to prevent a 3 gen its one which should done if playing smartly.
Of course its not the killers fault as they are just players. No one ever said it was the killer fault so that's moot point.
It is of course BHVR's fault this time as I will say it for the third time. The animations were stated by them on stream to not change survivor movements and were purely visual.

How is it BHVR's fault you chose to go for that generator?
0 -
yes. i don't understand what are they thinking, instead of focusing on balance stuff and game health they keep doing these unnecessary stupid changes no one asked for.

*Doesn't like the new animations*
"You completely broke your game"
0 -
So survivors can't abuse the bad animations anymore? Sounds like a positive to me frankly
0 -
and the hitbox, when are you going to fix it? it is impossible to play with the current hits, if they do not fix it, game dies at the speed of light..
3 -
They obviously planned this to happen
1 -
I think the movement DID change, though, that's the issue - particularly speed. Something's not right. Whether it's a side effect of the new animations, or a separate issue from them, isn't something we can know.
1 -
From killer perspective, survivors look so dumb that makes me laugh so hard. They look like they don't know where to go and what to do with these kind of animations. The injuried one looks like someone in diarrhea desperately looking for a bathroom. Unbelievable.

You didn't understand a single word of what I said. Have you ever heard of "game design" and "game mechanics"? Even if the Unreal capsule player controller still with the same parameters as before, animation CHANGE the way you perceive the control, and they are tigtly related. Perception in games is EVERYTHING. You brake that balance, you brake the game. Do some research on "game design", and this is one of the first things you learn about it.

Thank you for pointing out how they look so much worse from the killer perspective. I feel the animations where designed with only one perspective in mind. And even that still looks bad.
