How to improve the new HUD?
So because it looks like bhvr aren't willing (or able?) to revert to the old HUD what are some changes people think would improve it?
Personally I think:
- Move the survivor icons back to the bottom (some of the most important info in the game, so it needs to be in a convenient spot, plus having it running down the side of the screen makes it hard to scan through names (up/down vs left/right)
- Move other icons to make things less spread out (i.e. items, killer power, gens etc.), its horrible having to look at literally every corner and side of the screen for the info you need
- Change the hook timer and exhaustion meter color/make it more visible, its so hard to make out now and people are getting sacrificed because of it (also I'm not sure how the red on orange would be for colorblind people?)
- Might just be me, but change survivor icons to adept character art or even back to the blank faces from before, so all the icons have a matching style. Honestly, I think the 3d icons look pretty unprofessional and are part of what makes the new hud look like something from a mobile game. At the very least, change the sizing so it isn't so small compared to all the other icons.
Basically I want something like this lol, I do like the hook counter and seeing the character survivors are playing:

I heard they will not put UI in their old placement. So I just tried to improve the new one

You know what this version doesn't even look that bad. Does the yellow bar indicate Deep Wounds or something?

This looks awesome, it's exactly how I'd want it. I don't need hyper detailed portraits of the honestly ugly looking characters on my screen at all times. Your design is perfect and the positioning is exactly how it should be, instead of being scattered all over

Yellow bar as Deep wound / Orange as Dying / Red as Hooked
Hooked bar isnt split into double halve for 2 hook stages. But rather depleted one > count forward another hook mark > then refill the bar. And continue.

Made my own mockup yesterday
(gonna rework it later)
Basically what this does is:
- Changes the design but not function to the old-ish layout.
- Survivor info is again condensed in one area.
- The status info could either be above the portraits (as shown) or overlayed unto them, with the portraits (using the adept pics as seen above) becoming semi-transparent.
- I'm not certain the killer's hookcounter would be necessary, as it only counts how many hooks you made in total. As that feels only relevant towards emblems and challenges, this goes into the emblem progression.
- The esc menu would have a more detailed emblem progression, as the esc menu allows for mouseover info (careful not to accidentally dc)
- The Items/Ability would go with the perks
- There could also be a totem tracker for survivors where the 'instructions' are on the current in-game HUD

Really if you HAVE to have the faces there, what the devs should do (and honestly same for the character select screen portraits) is to have the game itself take sort of a screenshot of whatever cosmetic you are wearing currently, then maybe apply some filter so it looks a bit more drawn/sketched and then use that as your character portrait AND ingame.
And that gen counter up there in the middle is just insane, and the whole hooking information...like how braindead do you want to make it, its not THAT big a deal but im waiting for a racing line indicator on the floor to tell me how and where to run when im being chased.....

Another option: Make it customizable. Keep the current layout as the default for those who like it and let everyone else move stuff to where they want it.
