Is the new UI really that bad?

The new UI I personally don't really mind it and it is what it is. I'm sure with time it'll be changed and improved. However I must ask is the new UI truly that rage inducing or is hating on the UI the cool meta bandwagon thing to do because someone else said they don't like it and people are just shell shocked by the idea of forming their own opinion? Or do you just not really care and you play this game because you enjoy it? Let me know.

I'm used to it now. It's still annoying to look at the top left of my screen, but meh.

Playing it on a pc monitor isn't horrible. Playing it on console on a huge TV? Absolutely horrible.

The UI is the least of my concerns. I'm far more worried about the slowness of survivor movement at all speeds and during all actions.

No. It's not like the UI is something you focus on non-stop anyway.

I don't mind it. I like the additions (hook counter and Survivor portraits).

Only changes I would make would be moving the Generator icon back to the bottom left, and making the Hook/Bleed-out bars a bit easier to see.

Personally i got used to it after 1 match.

Apperently it causes headaches for some people cause of how much eyemovement they have to do now

No I think the UI is fairly functional, I like some aspects of it like the fact its easier to track the obsession now if youre using a perk like SBTFL. I quite like the hook counter but think it should actually count hooks rather than hook states (including Mori's).

Exactly. I've already sort-of gotten used to it, but that doesn't excuse the devs for being silent & pushing out a change that was hated by the majority. We have a PTB for a reason, right?

I think this sums up why most people are upset. UI itself isn’t making the game unplayable or unenjoyable - there are plenty of other issues. It’s the fact that BHVR spent a bunch of time and effort changing something that was perfectly fine and nobody was asking to change while neglecting ongoing major problems with the game that the community were actively complaining about and asking to change. They also asked for feedback about the UI changes, but ignored the overwhelmingly negative feedback. All of this was a major slap in the face to the community and it’s not like it’s the first time BHVR has treated the community this way. It’s the pattern of complete disregard for community feedback that people are mostly angry about

I don't like it but if they could just move the gen counter to the bottom left above the item and move the score events to the centre left just below the survivors it would at least be easier to only have to look on the left side.

    But I doubt that happens.

I'd personally say they've swapped a GOOD UI for an at best mediocre one. The information is displayed like a mobile game and the character portraits look tacky in opposition to the original minimalist and coherent look.

Even if you want to argue it's not that bad, It's definitely not a step up.

I have poor eyesight (almost 8 dioptres in both eyes and astigmatism) the new HUD gives me eye strain after playing for a while, also the information is not readily and easily available like it was, for example Deep Wound and Hook progression are very slim lines and before the new HUD I could check that in a glance and know how those timers were progressing, now I have to focus to be able to tell how they go.

The portraits dont work well because they are rather dark against a dark background so again, I have to focus to know who is who.

Then we go onto the position of the stuff, lets say Im playing Ghostface, I want to know how much timer is left to be able to activate Shroud and who is already stalked and how much, gotta look left bottom corner to check the timer, then I have to check top corner to see who is Stalked and how much, take on account the icons are very small, I have to focus my sight again and discern the small circles, suddenly a gen pops "that was the... second or third?" gotta check top center screen now, "oh crap how much was left on Shroud?", before this update I could glance at the bottom left and get all the information with big, white over dark icons, now I have to move my eyes around a big screen and focus my sight because everything important is too damn small and in dark tones.

My biggest concerns, aside from eye muscle discomfort (which is the biggest concern, obviusly) is the fact that nobody, absolutely nobody asked for this and the reason they gave us was "we are going to put more info into the HUD so we need to make space" is... fishy, what info? what else can they add? a totem counter? that doesnt need much space, just put 5 sticks near the gens in the old HUD and call it a day.
