i think i know the hitbox root cause.
I swear it only happens on crotus or gideon, I tested this out by going to macmillan and no hitbox issues. im going to game now and am seeing if i get hit from a mile away .

I do believe you're onto something. The two new reworked Maps are having a higher rate of this problem then the rest. We'll need a bit more time with it to be more conclusive, though.

On a serious note, i had a ghostface from china hit me from 10m away on the swamp map so... they changed something.

the frame rate on the reworked maps are pretty bad too. That could be part of the issue also.

I had the problem on one of the swamp maps and Lery's. The new maps might have a higher rate, but I don't think it's just them.

been watching various streamers all day today and it's all maps.

yea i get that but i havent had an issue on other maps yet. I mean killers are getting through pallet stuns on every map though thats a problem

I doesn't happen as often on the other maps for me. unless its reworked clown. Clowns hits feel so terrible from the other side its gross

I had a mile away hits in Corn and Ormond today.

My theory is that the hits are unfair due to the falling animation when you're downed.
You fly forwards by like a few meters when you get downed as opposed to before the update where you just flop on the floor.
This means that the hit box is slightly back more so that they fall in the same place they'd fall if the original downed animation did.

Was having problems with a Nurse swinging mid blink on Suffocation Pit and hitting me from double the usual distance so I doubt it's map related.

I love that flying animation its so cool xD. But yeah obviously something it's not right, they need to tweak the animations. The "ghost hits" looks even more fake than before.

Hmm, I don't think it's an animation issue. My theory is that hits register as soon as the Survivor's hitbox even grazes the Killer's weapon during a swing. As you know, the attack hitbox is always bigger than the actual weapon (except PH), so that could be why. I dunno. It has something to do with hitboxes though, as the devs have confirmed that hitboxes are a little out of whack now.

Right where I got hit already through the pallet. No lag spikes, just a ghostface with the arms of Freddy Krueger attached to his arms.

My confusion to the hit box issue is that the visual 'proof' of these seems to be strictly Survivor sided. I haven't seen (either personally or through videos posted) where the killer's POV shows them hitting a survivor from miles away or through walls....that makes me think it's not really a hitbox issue as much as an unintended visual glitch due to the updated animations.

Yes but the downed animation doesn't trigger until you are downed, which obviously happens after the hit, so how could this affect the hitbox which causes the hit in the first place?

I have to play between 80-100 ping per game and it was usual to receive some weird hits sometimes. Now with the update this happens more than ever; played on Midwich, Swamp, The game, Lery's and the hits from the killers feel weirder than ever.
This video is from someone else, if he has around 40 ping imagine someone that has to play between 80-100.

Nah, I played on Coldwind right now and I got hit while being 2 metres away from the Killer while vaulting a window.

I didn't really notice any weird hits as killer but I've seen them as survivor quite a bit. Some hits look fine while others are just way off.

Just had the funnest hit in Midwich. Clown was at the top of a set of stairs, I was at the bottom... and down I went. A bit ridiculous.

The severs are having issues. Unstable ping and random disconnects all starting yesterday.

A Nurse on MacMillan grew some long Freddy arms earlier today and gave me some good smacking 50 meters away sooo...
I don't really notice as much when I play killer but oh boy as survivor you can really feel it.
