Hag mental attack

I was crouched behind this rock, the hag is on the other side. She is nowhere near me, I can't even see her. I took a hit and turned to run and took another hit. Both times I was too far away and had a boulder between me and the killer. The first hit I did not see her swing. The second hit I could see her well enough to tell she did not swing; neither hit made a sound. Apparently she attacked me with some sort of mental attack. Is this a bug or a new perk?
