Custom Games Effecting Ranks

Me and a couple friends did some customs to explore the maps, nothing serious just us goofing around as we checked out the new maps. I noticed the results screen said I went from a rank 4 survivor to a rank 5 from those games, but I thought nothing of it because the game usually corrects itself. I hopped back on today after taking a break, but my survivor rank was still a 5. Those custom games actually effected my rank.

    Right now it seems like there is a problem with the pips since I have lost 2 pips for losing a match, gained 4 pips for double pipping or have lost pips from a dc game. After a while it should go back to normal and if it doesn't tough luck I guess. Only thing we can do is wait for a hotfix at the moment

    I want to know, what happens to people who have had their ranks artificially increased/decreased by custom games? Playing with my friends it pipped me up twice and I am wondering is that going to get me in trouble, just for playing like that, or will my rank just be decreased to what it should be?
