BP bonus should be moved to hindering perks
I originally wanted to make a post about how No Mither shouldn't leave blood orbs for Oni so I'll just stick it up here, just as a tag along.
And in the mean time I realized that perks that people consider bad are the ones that should be getting bonus BP instead of really good perks.
Currently you get bonus BP from:
- BBQ and Chilli - Up to 100% on everything
- Distressing - 100% in deviousness
- Hex: Thrill of the Hunt - Up to 40% (realistically 30% or less) in hunter
- Beast of Prey - 50% in hunter
----------------
- Prove thyself - 100% on cooperative actions
- We're gonna live forever - Up to 100% on everything
- No one left behind - 100% on altruism during EGC
And my issue is that BBQ for example is used very often in builds because it's a really good detection perk by itself and you even get rewarded for taking this useful perk into games? So you're rewarded for making yourself more powerful?
Distressing is effectively only useful for Doctor and is effectively a hinderance for any other killer (Maybe outside Huntress because of her Lullaby radius.) because an increased TR will not allow you to sneak around as effectively. So it makes sense that this perk would give out more BP, but why only deviousness when an all round good perk for everyone (With the possible exception of Executioner, but that's their conscious choice.) BBQ gives a bonus for everything?
Thrill of the Hunt has an increased amount of BP which is counter productive. It only goes up to 40% and it's only for the Hunter Category (Which is probably there solely because the perk is on a Huntress.) but besides that it has the small utility of slowing down cleansing and giving you a notification of when a totem is being cleansed so it's better to be used in builds with other hexes which in turn lowers the bonus you gain. As if the bonus wasn't small enough as is, even if you bring no other hex, you'd still only gain 40% only in the hunter category and lets be real, people will likely cleanse dull totems if they find them across the map from you so that bonus will probably go down even further.
Beast of Prey also just seems to have the Hunter increase simply because the perk belongs to Huntress and I mean, it opens up mindgames if you actually waste enough time to get to Bloodlust 1 with someone so it CAN be useful if that's what you're going for.
Then on the survivor side there's Prove Thyself which is THE gen rusher team perk of choice which rewards you for getting a large gen speed boost anyway which both you and all the other nearby survivors gain. Why should this have a BP bonus on top of the strong effect it has?
We're gonna live forever is fair game, similar to Distressing. You get rewarded with bonus BP for putting yourself in harms way. This one deserves the boost.
No one left behind is somewhat irrelevant because you'll probably go most games without even putting this perk to good use to even make good use of the bonus since EGC lasts for a short time, the perk does nothing before EGC which might not even come if the killer wipes the floor with the team and puts you in harms way. I don't have any real issue with the BP bonus being here but I don't see if it's actually rewarding pretty much anything. Since by EGC, you might just be maxed on Altruism if you do heals, unhooks and saves.
---------------
There's perks which practically hinder you more and should have the attached BP boost instead, such as No Mither, Sole Survivor, Babysitter, Saboteur, Monstrous Shrine, Predator and Bamboozle maybe. Hope you get the point. You shouldn't be rewarded for picking a strong perk. You should be rewarded for effectively shooting yourself in the foot game-wise and managing to play with it.

No mither and blood orbs are intended. I think it got tested and they decided not to add it.
