Use of clowns speed bottle?

I don't really get it. Sure it makes the clown faster, but also the survivors. I've never seen a single clown use it since it was added. I guess it could have some very, VERY niche purposes but I just don't see how the devs thought this was a good addition. Am I missing something?

Good for long loops where you can deny the survivor getting it and after a hit for a quick follow up when combined with the tonic

It’s good. But if you are playing a speed boost character there are many other better options. Leatherface, blight, and spirit come to mind

Seeing how clown chooses where the gas goes and usually goes there himself the survivor generally should never get the speedboost without getting hit in the process.

And even if you mess up you still benefit from it slightly more then the survivor.

In general getting the speedboost and slowing survivors at the same time is the fastest way to catch them right now.

It does require some setup though but it is worth it. Clowns who ignore the sonic tonic are really handicapping themselfs

I've personally been using the speed bottles to zone a survivor away from an area since they think it's purple gas most that time. Then I run through the yellow then pelt them with purple.

In open areas I pelt the survivor with yellow gas since they have to run or I'll catch up, I run into the yellow gas then I use purple.

Mobility, catching survivors faster by reducing the distance between you and them. Other than that, nothing else.

its not useful for short loops but it definitely helps while traversing the map and long loops. The trick stands in throw the bottle a bit far to give the tonic time to activate so you don't stop there waiting for the buff.

I can recommend this video from Dowsey:

It's really decent Clown gameplay and shows some great uses of the new bottle type (e.g 6:50)
