No one is talking about ......
The performance on this patch and I mean FPS wise, not network, not lag, straight FPS, I got to assume most of you are on console and you don't notice it much but damn, every damn map INCLUDING the notorious Midwich FPS slug fest is at 144 FPS dropping to maybe 110 FPS sometimes and that's 1440P and ultra setting, for comparison midwich i was getting maybe 60-70 FPS before, it's ######### huge. Kudos to the devs for that I know lots of things is a dumpster fire but it seems you finally fixed the bad performance on PC at least.

Performance on Console has taken a dip this update, so I am not happy about that.
3 -
Really? I'm surprised, which console?
0 -
I'm happy for you
Maybe we console folks will be able to experience 60 FPS DbD one day.
Without FPS drops like these:

I'm on Xbox but I know it happens on PS-series consoles as well.

That's current patch?
If so that's ######### horrible indeed, it's super damn weird tho they really just finally cracked the code on PC, never had such a great experience FPS wise i would of assumed you all gott a net gain..... Also are you on a SSD? DBD without a SSD was also a ######### when i got a hit tbh.

Yes performance got a lil worse after this update in Xbox1. Frame drops from lighting sources on reworked maps is the latest culprit, and the indoor maps sonehow got even more choppy.

Thanks to animation changes I have actually seen an improvement where frame drops were common/most notable. Playing on xbox

So damn inconsistent across console users :/

That clip is 3 months old but that's the kind of FPS drops we get whenever someone is looting a chest, someone gets hit by freddy/sloppy butcher/devour hope/noed,when you get your first stack of bloodlust as killer etc.
I play on base PS4 with an HDD but i'm pretty sure that even a SSD won't fix those FPS drops.
We had to deal with this garbage performance for years.
BHVR was aiming for stable 60 FPS on all plattforms but that was december 2019...

Oh I know that performance on PC was abysmal tho, seems like they cracked it this patch, really never had every map run this fine in 3 years, that's why I was wondering why no one is talking about it at least PC wise, i don't play it on console so I don't know if you guys also got a boost in performance.

The original Dev post is actually from March of 2019. They aimed for December 2019 for 60 FPS on Console.
0 -
Nope,we didn't
Perfomance is as bad as it always has been
0 -
Yeah i know.
I wanted to say that they were aiming for 60 FPS on console for december 2019
0 -
Ah, I understand. I thought you were saying that the post was from December.
I remember when they announced that and I was hyped.
0 -
To be fair @not_Queen was talking about improving FPS in 2018 already.
Great to see how much progress they've made so far :')

remember when they announced that and I was hyped.
Me too.
Remember the good old days when you believed that BHVR would keep their promises? Lmao

The FPS was better there for a while, but, it got bad pretty fast.
0 -
Yep,great times where sloppy butcher or bloodlust didn't reduce my FPS to 0

You still get frame drops with a RTX 3080, this game has terrible optimization.

But seriously i had this bug on PC, everytime a new status popped i got a huge frame drop, switching to SSDF fixed it for me, How's PS5 performance? Or XBSX
0 -
Seriously?
I'm not a PC expert, but isn't that supposed to be a super high end grapic card?
0 -
Yeah, the RTX 30 series are Nvidia's latest graphics cards.
0 -
I miss those times.
1 -
On PC for me, it's much worse than before.
@OniWantsYourMacaroni Yep, it's basically the latest and greatest atm.
1 -
As far as i've heard.
Next gen console performance is mostly stable 60 FPS without the normal major FPS drops.

I feel sorry for the console players, I started out playing DBD on PS4 and I have clocked around 3k hours. I think the game barely maxes out at 40 FPS when I played on PS4. I switched to PC recently and have issues with this game maintaining 60 FPS. It's inexcusable that a 4 year old game with subpar graphics has performance issues like this. I have been playing Resident Evil 3 remake which looks so much better than DBD and it runs like a dream on my hardware.
