Grabbing survivors

I’m sick and tired of having my grabs denied by a constant bug in the game that’s been probably in it for the past 3 years. Will there be a fix anytime soon or will we just continue on getting changes that we don’t need such as the hud..?

    But hey at least they are probably gonna fix the desync problem as fast as possibly while leaving this for over a year.

    And before someone says something like "that's not the same , yada yada yada", it literally is and maybe even more. A grab is, depending on the state of the survivor, worth not one but two hits when they go from healthy directly on the shoulder of the killer.

    And is even the same problem of player to server connection but the other way around. The server sees the survivor already leaving the grabable position while on killer side it seems normal and than the server tells the killer "nope, too late sorry buddy".

    Killer already has enough priority in the game when it comes to hits that I can't agree. Is it really a big deal to have to hit a survivor instead of grabbing them? Oh no you missed out on extra points and lost 2-3 seconds, which does matter, but killers already get priority on pallets and imo that's enough

    Well, first of all, if they have a way to fix the Desyncs, it is just logical that they do. They dont really have a way to fix grabs. Its not like they fix the Desync-Problem because it affects Survivors.

    Also, the Desync-problem is way bigger than cancelled grabs. Usually, grabs are quite rare, while Hits are the main reason why Survivors are put into Injured or Dying State. Quite logical that those are more important.

    @Topic:

    It is most likely a Dedicated Servers-issue and it happens on both sides. As Survivor, you can also let go of the Gen/the Unhook and STILL get grabbed. I even had a situation where the Survivor complained about that, and in fact, it was like that: He wanted to unhook, I get a cancelled Grab (Animation started), then I get a grab, but he said that he cancelled it before. So basically first I got robbed, than the Survivor got robbed. Yay.

    And since it is a Dedicated Server-Issue, I doubt it will be fixed anytime soon. Look at Dead Hard, they announced a few months ago that they are reworking it from the ground up to work on Dedicated Servers. This is long after the implementation of those Servers and it takes quite long - for just ONE Perk. Imagine how much effort it is to make grabs work (or not work, when the Survivor lets go fast enough) - it will tage ages, I guess.

    Unless you specifically need grabs i would just hold m1 amd get the lunge hit instead of going for the grab.

    This is the worst part.

    It's annoying enough you've lost your grab, but when the game bugs out and you are frozen for a bit, you've basically just lost even more time. It almost makes it not worth going for grabs. Painful.

    yeah, i've been playing Nurse for few days now and i can't count how many times a grab has been denied...

    Yea the only time that grabs are stolen from killer are when survivors are on gens. It's insanely rare to see a grab through window or pallet being robbed from the killer. In fact of all my hours of viewing and playing the game never have I seen it. If you cant hit a survivor who just got off a gen literally less than a foot from you before they can make anywhere safe, that's your problem not the games.

    Wouldnt grabs be easily "fixed" by making the "can get grabbed"-state linger a moment after leaving the repair or unhook action?

    I'm not entirely sure how much you understand latency, play killer or watch content creators, but suffice it to say that all forms of grabbing get robbed equally.
