give surge some love pls

surge is my favorite gen control perk, but i think it could be better with just 2 changes.

  1. reduce the cooldown of surge from 40 to 30
  2. remove the "basic attack" requirement for surge to activate (it would be so fun to land a cross map hatchet and stop a generator from popping lol)


what do you think of these suggestions and what would you do to give surge a little buff?

    Honestly I would be ok with just the loss of basic attack normally 40s if enough time for me to pick them up hook find someone else and by the time I down them its popped again

    For some reason they don't want hatchets to be able to proc surge, cause they want "consistency".

    So yeah, they made a perk that it's not worth using on a bunch of killers just because.

    Yeah that's why hatchets don't work with infectious- oh wait they do. Infectious works with literally EVERY KILLER ACTION that sends someone into the dying state (even lockers because yeah that makes sense) but surge, Knockout, gearhead etc require basic attacks because "cOnSiStEnCy"

    I'm just sad, man. Weird excuses for decisions like this is holding so many things back in this game from being fun and interesting.

    They are actively nerfing perks that increase gen time so this will NEVER happen.

    You should better keep quiet about this. I heard they wanted to add a cooldown to infectious. It wouldnt surprise me when they would rework infectious and give it the basic attack requirement, too.

    I love Surge, it's honestly one of my favorite killer perks in the game. I agree with the 1st one but I kinda... disagree with the 2nd one. An 8% reduction of generator progression is a lot more than you think. It's actually 1/3 of Pop, which is pretty impressive. Making Surge exclusive for M1'ing is a lot balanced in my opinion. Idk, I might be wrong. I guess I mean like, it'd make Oppression weaker? I don't really know how to explain. But yeah I think Surge is perfect rn, the cooldown buff to 30s is pretty cool though.

    I don’t really understand why surge has a cool down in the first place. There shouldn’t be a cool down at all. Kinda silly

    They allready gave Surge a shadow buff by changing the terminology of generator regression. Surge will regress generators in range by 8% even if they are allready in regression state, where it previously didn't. So thats nice.

    As it is, Surge is a good option for M1 killers and a poor one for killers who moslty rely on their special attacks. And I think thats ok ? I wouldn't mind the shorter cooldown but maybe it would be a bit too good for killers like Hillbilly, Cannibal and Oni who allready get massive pressure and snowball potential for landing their instant down special attacks. But then again, maybe it wouldn't be so bad ? I dont know.
