Do Killers have Auto-Aim?
Just curious. I know some of this can be because of the hitboxes and the recent issues but anytime I juke killers, like manage to get behind them before the swing, they still manage to hit to me while they are facing the other way. Other times I’ve seen killers quickly shift to my direction as they are swinging. It looks unnatural and almost like aim assist if you know what I mean. I know a good majority of killers are just good but sometimes it feels a little off or robotic

There's a little bit of it. No way to turn it off for the killers.

They do have autoaim for basic M1 swings and I think lunges.
It's important to note however that unlike autoaim in most video games, I'd argue DBD's autoaim actually makes it HARDER to play killer. A 360ing survivor can easily make a lunge that should have connected bump into a wall, or stop short, etc.
There is definitely some messed up hitboxes though. I partially blame the animation update but I'm not a dev so I can't be sure.

Aim assist. It only takes effect when the game detects the killer's weapon intersects the survivor's hitbox. So the game doesn't move you to make the hit, you already did. Key difference between it and auto-aim.
What aim assist does do, it tries to make the hit center to the survivors hitbox. That way the hit doesn't feel off. The problem is this often moves the weapon into an environment hitbox instead of a survivor.
That's why I called it anti auto-aim.

How do Killers get the hit then if they are not even facing me when they swing? If I’m behind them and they still manage to hit me that seems a little off.

Right now the there's massive desync which the Devs said maybe fixed in 4.5.2. But don't hold your breath.
In "normal" circumstances there is some delay between what the killer sees and what you, the survivor, sees. The server is the middle man that determines if a hit occurred or not.

Consoles have aim-dressing, a form of aim assist that is meant to compensate for playing on a controller against keyboards.

If I remember right there's basically a cone in front of the killer and when they swing, if a survivor is in that cone, the killer is going to land that hit. The view of the killer will sort of snap into place to try and make the hit look good visually. It's not perfect though.
Killers seemingly hitting you when not looking your way is likely due to the desync issue that everyone is talking about recently.

Aim dressing is a mechanic that ensures that hits look better (makes sure everything aligns properly)

They actually called it "Aim-Dressing"
Peanits explained it that auto-aim can connect hits that shouldn't have hit and aim dressing could rob hits that should have hit

It's dressing your aim quite nicely to the tree next to the survivor

The devs say there is no aim assist/auto aim etc but it's clear there is

no. everyone has aim dressing.
they are there to force you to face where you are hitting, make it seem "better".
they don't anything to compensate console players.

I’m a console player and can usually get 360 and left in the dust by PC players. I’ve tried my hardest to 360 with console and it doesn’t work or I haven’t cracked the safe.

Either desync, the killer doing a weird swing/lunge while turning really fast (I've seen otzdarva do it a few times when survivors are 360ing behind him), the aim assist or some combination of the previous.

if someone tries to 360, just take a second to swing. basically, they will try to 360 in front of you, and when they stop you smack them.

Err, they stated quite clearly there's "aim-dressing"... which can cause you to inadvertently miss

excuse me, I want to ask if playing killer THE TRAPPER needs to activate auto aim or not
