Hot take: Med kits are absurd
I'm pretty sure that Ive made a post about this already, but recently Ive been seeing a lot more medkits. Probably because of how absurdly good they are and how they pretty much destroys a killers split pressure.
Having 2 or more medkits means that any chance of preventing a heal is gone and gens will go by faster due to the mass reduced healing time and increased chase times. Now that's their purpose, which isn't an issue, but to the extent they do it too is an issue.
To sum it up, they do their job too well and makes it hard if not impossible to get good pressure on a map against people who just rapidly heal. Splitting heals across multiple survivors isn't possible when the entire team can be fully healed in something like 30 seconds flat.
(Also get the "hurr durr killer main complaining" speech out)

How are medkits issues now lol
We have so many killers and perks that involved the Exposed effect that Medkits are just used to stop the pain sounds

If medkits are ruining your game it's because you let the injured guy go.
12 -
Git gud.
4 -
"Oh no, survivors genrush because they don't heal"
"Oh no, survirvors genrush because they heal"
13 -
you can bring franklins if you're that upset about them in your games, holy #########.

Medkits are fine. They were nerfed like a year/year and a half ago I think? Before that, they were definitely stronger.
There's a reason many players just ignore healing and play injured.
4 -
Wait..so someone complain about medkit now...should we introduce u to a guy complains about Corrupted Intervention?
3 -
Not complaining about Medkits, but they are easily the strongest item in the game.
They can take a lot of pressure away from the killer and pretty much hard counters hit and run type of playstyles.
4 -
Survivors dont heal and get gens done -> I have shorter chases due to them not healing
Survivors waste time healing and get gens slower -> I have longer chases but more pressure.
Survivors mass heal with medkits -> I have longer chases but don't get pressure from their heals.
Tell me how purple or green med kits are balanced.

I mean, medkits are the only items that's worth bringing for survivors lately. Toolboxes were nerfed pretty hard (rightfully so), flaslights are too complicated for the average survivor to use, maps were only good against old Ruindying and bringing a key will just make the killer dodge the lobby or tunnel you.
Though, I can't really relate to your issue, I've never played killer and thought "oh no, the survivors are bringing medkits" before

Yea, which means im devoting too long to a survivor. So I'm actually doing the right play by leaving him and going to gens. But ya know he's healed back up in literally 15 seconds on his own.
2 -
No this hot take is absurd.
Healing was already nerfed, medkits were already nerfed, also when healing was nerfed it resulted in the ultra genrush meta. Be careful what you wish for. Nerfing medkits any further will simply result in survivors just going back to genrushing and your pressure will disappear up in smoke even more.

Unless your running specific perks medkits give you about 1 maybe 2 heals. Sloppy Butcher and Franklins Demise throw a monkey wrench in that plan. If they are running a medkit build then they aren't running every single 2nd chance perk in the game.
If you think medkits are bad "now" you should have been around when syringes insta healed you.
4 -
Because they can be used just a couple of times, 3 with perks. Also other people posted plenty of counters, pick one :)

If survivors have the right medkit and addons they can get a heal in mid chase.
1 -
This is... one of the worst threads I've seen on this forum lol.
While we're at it, let's nerf Self-Care and Inner Strength. Self-Care can take 180 seconds to heal and IS can only be used once per match and deactivates for the rest of it.
5 -
They are, if I wasn’t a key addict I would use medkits because they are the next most OP item. Healing in ~8 seconds is nuts and makes spreading damage across the team impossible. I use Franklins for 3+ medkits.
1 -
You can get 3 heals with a Purple MedKit and Gel Dressing.
You can also reach 3 heals with a Yellow MedKit with both Gel Dressing and Gauze Roll, but you lose out on bringing an addon to increase healing speed.
You can't get any higher than that without perks.
1 -
Survs use medkits because toolboxes are trash with the nerf. If you nerf medkits survs will use flashlights and get better with them. And then we see you here complaining and asking for a nerf again

I prefer someone healing himself in a corner than someone holding m1 like there is no tomorrow. Not an issue for me, despite just being a few secs away from gens, its still very valuable secs that i have for my match and usually.. it ends bad for them if they waste time on healing.
The gen rushers than don't bother at healing are the annoying ones for me, although sometimes that ends badly for them.

I can't tell if your being serious. Medkits? Really?
Genuine question for you: are survivors not allowed to heal themselves?
5 -
Its the speed of which someone can self heal that bothers me.
You should not be able to heal yourself in 16 seconds or less, it should at least be 24 seconds at base. Even with sloppy its still an insane speed because it does not account for self heals, it just acts as though another person is healing you.

They are allowed but just not in insane speeds :)
You shouldn't be able to self heal in less that 16 seconds unless you have an entire build dedicated to healing yourself.

This is what we call a goalpost move. Medkits are a shell of what they used to be.
7 -
I get what your saying but if you were to make the time longer you would have to give something in return wouldn't you? Increasing the time to heal with a medkit would give way too much power to perks like sloppy butcher, coulrophobia, thanataphobia, and nurses calling. And end up benefiting the killer rather then survivors.
1 -
I take it you weren't around for 12 second healing?
2 -
While medkits are very strong in the macro sense in that it saves the survivor team a lot of time, my problem with medkits is that you as a killer can't tell if the survivor has a gray one-off heal or a mac daddy purple one with addons which can be bumped up to almost 4 full heals. They should be visually different so the killer can at least guess how many heals they have or that are remaining (or just decide to bring Franklin's).
1 -
Disagree. You have the Survivor dead to rights and in your sights. Why let them go just so they can heal up? The number of seconds lost finishing the job is fewer than the number of seconds trying to hunt them down later, and then you need to do it twice!
1 -
yeah i agree and also the killer should be able to see the survivor's item add ons and all of their perks
1 -
Im not gonna throw the game chasing them at groaning storehouse building or crotus building. That's when I have to leave them.
0 -
I wouldn't call them "absurd" but they're definitely strong. By far the strongest thing a team of survivors can bring is 4 purple medkits with add-ons. Keys don't even come close to that. If you're a killer such as Wraith, Pig, even Oni to an extent, your pressure will be nonexistent because you won't ever be able to spread damage. 4 survivors being able to get several full heals in around 12 seconds like that, without having to find someone else, is really strong, and kills any pressure M1 killers may have had.
1 -
Run Franklin's then, there are ways to counter everything so stop the crying
2 -
Then why can't survivors see the killers before the match begins? The double standard is ridiculous, how many one hit killers are there where healing is pointless? Killers need to quit crying

#########? Medkit to OP xD every day better ideas in this forum lol xD PLS NeRf SeLF CaRe PeRk ItS tO oP. XD

i was being sarcastic lmfao i thought it was obvious.
0 -
EZ. Just stop letting injured survivors go.
2 -
What about a green medkit with no add ons? I tend to bring pharmacy and farm green medkits for a few games so I don't have to bring a healing perk. Most of the time it only has enough juice to heal me once.

Mnhh medkits are probably the strongest item survivors use. Other than a key (when you succeed with it, normally even then not so much)
They are fine though, not even very useful against some killers like Plague.

A full heal is 16 charges. A green medkit has 16 charges at base. The main noteworthy thing about a green medkit is it boosts self healing speed at base (+50%). Which is a 12 second heal iirc.

I'm a killer main, this isn't a "hurry durr killer main complaining" thing. This is an entitled killer who doesn't realize that if they stopped healing, you will just get genrushed hard. Deal with them healing or just don't let injured survivors go
1 -
healing means they aren't on gens. And these med kits aren't unlimited. As someone that pays both sides, it sounds like you need to get better at looping .

This is true I’ve done it MANY times, and I have to say it’s SOOOO ######### satisfying lol.
