Totem placement
It's when the coding of the game and all of its brilliance decide that it's a good idea you stick a hex totem right next to a generator
It doesn't even need to be hex ruin either. It can be any totem but the point is they put them right next to an objective expecting no one to destroy it.
At this point in time I'm pretty sure that a lot of you came up with different ways to fix this problem. Some of us suggested that we just find a totem and place it ourselves.
Others have gone with the insane idea of just making the hexes perks that don't get destroyed.
My idea is that they just fix the placement and dim the light of the totem a bit because I'm certain Maps they will stick out like a sore thumb.
Seriously fix the total placement

Hex gaunted grounds was the devs fix to the broken totem mechanic
A classic "solution" since they are too lazy to fix the underlying game mechanics. A perfect example, just liek bloodlust and looping. (the irony that bloodlust got nerfed though)

One time many patches ago I saw a totem literally inside a generator but that's a bit more unfair lol.
They should change some of the spawning codes so at least 1 hex totem spawns near the killer and totems cannot spawn within x metres of a generator. Though this could cause more problems if done wrong but we'll see.0 -
I had one totem (DH) spawn in a perfect location once. It was on the Swamp, in a corner of the map, hidden behind an L-shaped tree trunk.
It was the first time I got to see the Clown's Memento Mori animation as well, because it was the first time I got any use out of DH - or any other hex perk, for that matter, NOED not included. If Hex perks are to be useful, the totem locations need to be hidden. Maybe creating totem spawns with terrain obstructing view of the totem, and then dispersing them throughout the procedural could work. The locations would be recognizable, obviously, but it'd take a long time to actually find the right spot, because you'd need to check each and every one up close. Totems are simply too visible - they're literally bone white (and glowing, if they're the ones assigned to a Hex perk) whereas most maps have relatively dark textures.

I was once using ruin and dh, both spawned right next to different gens.
Rip my build
But honestly most of the times they spawn in good or ok locations.0
