I think you're just stereotyping at this point.
21 -
Why not both? Something really ostentatious and showy for one character and on the other something really subdued and subtle?
7 -
Great, another one...
The horse is beyond dead at this point, there's god damn crows eating it at this point.
16 -
Where is the picture of the face showing that character is a drag queen?
8 -
Another one? I don't think you read my post properly. I said that I have no problem with people expressing themselves irl but a drag queen in dbd doesn't seem appropriate. How does that make me homophobic?
2 -
or it had some role in their backstory
Hypothetically, what if that were indeed the case here? What would that change for you?
6 -
Pretty sure that they're just assuming the new survivor will be a drag queen because they are part of the LGBTQ.
16 -
It was an example.
1 -
I mean yui, ace and nea all have really bright outfits that you could argue don’t fit in. As long as the survivors fells unique I’m good
4 -
Where was it confirmed that the survivor was a Drag Queen? And even if they were, why would that be ridiculous? Do Drag Queens not exist? Why couldn’t they be in the game? There’s also a ton of Drag Queen streamers and I’m sure they’d love to have a survivor they can fully identify with. A lot of people like to feel immersed in the game they’re playing and one way for that to happen is to feel like you are the character.
It always makes me chuckle when people say stuff like “I’m not racist” and “I’m not against the LGBT” but then go on to post things like this.
So you’re okay with survivors running around in Christmas onesies, dressed as a Christmas present, hoodies with bunny ears and puppet hands, but you draw the line at ‘crazy’ make-up and fake eyelashes? Seems suspicious to me. 🙊

You mean if being a drag queen was part of their backstory? Well it wouldn't change my opinion really, it's not at all the idea of being a drag queen that I do not like, just how it would appear in dbd.
0 -
I have no objection to people expressing themselves however they see fit irl but I just don't think that a drag queen survivor would really fit into the dbd aesthetic.
That doesn't sound like much of an example to me.
4 -
I don't know what the new survivor will be but it is a possibility and I'm just expressing my concern.
0 -
So then why did you mention "or it had some role in their backstory" when that was false?
7 -
I thought you were talking about the massive eyelashes bit
0 -
Uhm there's not a certain aesthetic the entity is looking for when finding killers/survivors. It's the story that conjures up the horror theme.
5 -
No what I meant was If it was a gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender characters and it mentioned that they were or it was part of their backstory I'd be okay with it. I'd even be okay if their was slightly feminine-looking man or vice versa. What I object to is purely a drag queen in dbd's aesthetic.
0 -
What if that is indeed the case, though?
2 -
alright so if I said that Kermit the frog was going to be the new survivor would you be happy with that. I don't think Kermit follows a horror theme.
1 -
I’m so glad that you’d be okay with that. Phew! I was worried.
Reply to my post from above. 😉

If the issue is that it's too flamboyant, then that ship has sailed long ago. There are a lot of flamboyant outfits in DbD. If the issue is that a man could be wearing women's clothes, then...
5 -
I guess I'd have to deal with it. At the end of the day, it isn't my decision. But I wouldn't be happy.
0 -
You just said that you'd be okay with it if it were gay, lesbian, bi, trans and it was part of their backstory. Which is it? Okay, or not okay?
2 -
Eh? Where in the bloody seven seas did I call you Homophobic?
You didn't bring anything new to the discussion. There's like 5+ threads about this topic just today, where you could've just left a comment instead of making a thread.
2 -
Alright the difference is, I wouldn't mind, in fact I'd be happy, if there was a gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender character. I don't like the idea of a drag queen in dbd because it wouldn't fit the visual aesthetic and if there was a drag queen in dbd I wouldn't like it but I guess I'd have deal with it.

There are horror aesthetic drag queens. Sharon Needles is probably the most famous one for it.
And many drag queens experiment with the aesthetic even if they don't do it all the time. That said, I'm not pushing for it either way.
5 -
SO I ASK. What if that is indeed the case? What if, for example, it turns out that this character that DBD has been teasing is a woman who is a lesbian?
3 -
I misinterpreted your comment then, my mistake

I am gay and couldn't care less about a LGBTQI+ survivor.... Like who cares honestly they are fictional characters in a "horror" game and all of them are reskins anyway.
And who says some survivor characters aren't queer already? Who knows that dwight didn't have a boyfriend once? Maybe nea is into girls?
Like who gives a damn about that... The lore of this game is boring and nobody ever reads the archive log entries or other stuff anyway...
TBH I hate how goofy some outfits have become in the past, DBD lost it's horror theme a long while ago (elf dwight, box dwight, the onesies, weird santa claudette, onesie deathslings, cumogorgon, etc.). If they add like a drag queen or someone else to the game it would just be the nail to the coffin, that's Dead by Daylight and not an episode of rupauls drag race. Don't get me wrong I do some drag as well sometimes for fun but that not supposed to be in DBD. It's glamourous, sparkly and fun, like the complete opposite of horror but whatever... Goofy stuff over horror I guess, we can't take this game seriously anymore anyway.
2 -
God i was stricktly in the don't care group but the more i see post like this the more i actually want it to be a lgbt.
6 -
Jesus H. Christ, that looks like something out of a horror film.
3 -
Just reading the post it sounded like a stereotype. We don't know if the character is a drag queen. Also, let's say they are. Who said the character would be in drag in base cosmetics? It could be cosmetic choices though.
3 -
Okay well as long as they don't have massive fake eyelashes or crazy makeup I'd be alright with it. The outfit doesn't look that bad to be honest.
0 -
"nobody reads the lore anyways". Actually, the lore is quiet interesting. The killers, obviously moreso, but the survivors stories are actually really varied.
Just because you don't like the lore doesn't mean no one does.
4 -
So it's okay as long as it turns out to be a woman?
4 -
That's the point, Marge! XD Go watch Dragula! It's such a cool show.
ETA - Orion, I love your posts. You're awesome. <3
2 -
I use to love her back in the day. That was from the "Death Becomes Her" challenge on Ru Paul's. Now a days she..... kinda fell off the wagon. It's unfortunate.
3 -
That is not what I said at all. If it's a guy and he doesn't have a beard or massive eyelashes/crazy makeup I'm fine with it.
0 -
Why no beard?
3 -
Oh but its fine if I'm running around in a Christmas onesie? Or if my character is dressed like an Elf or a Christmas Gift?
3 -
So you’re ok with it as long as they are “discreet” about it.
Sounds like when people say they are ok with gay couples but as long as they are discreet about it. 🙄
You didn’t even provide a reason why a drag character wouldn’t fit. Instead you tried to pre-warn us with the same tired “I’m not homophobic but...” opening I’ve heard many people using on here.
4 -
You're going to keep commenting until I slip up and say something that makes me look homophobic aren't you. Well again I have no objection to people expressing themselves irl, whether that means having a beard and wearing a dress at the same time or not, I think that it would look silly in dbd.
0 -
I ask again: Why no beard? Simple question.
From what you have said so far, a man wearing that dress in DBD is not allowed to have a face that looks too masculine or too feminine. What would be appropriate?
3 -
I have no objection to Christmas costumes. They don't look out of place imo.
0 -
I just told you, it would look silly in dbd.
0 -
You posted this before I edited my post, so I'll simply include my edit here.
From what you have said so far, a man wearing that dress in DBD is not allowed to have a face that looks too masculine or too feminine. What would be appropriate?
2 -
A lot of things look silly in DbD, but none of them got the level of pushback that LGBT gets from this vocal minority. Now why is that?
4 -
So you're telling me dressing up as a literal gift on Christmas doesn't look out of place in a game where its life or death. But having lashes and make up on "Doesn't fit the aesthetic." or "Looks out of place."
