Should I buy the new killer in PTB?

I am not exactly sure how the PTB works concerning purchases. If I were to buy the new killer in the PTB with Auric Cells, would it appear in my killer when the new chapter comes out? I don't want to throw away money if it doesn't translate over to the base game. Please answer!

Everyone gets the killer for free in the PTB
But no, the PTB does not affect live servers in ANY WAY. Nothing that you do on the PTB will transfer over to live.
