LGBTQ Solution
This community is like on civil war right now! I personaly dont care about the in-depth backstories of any killer/survivor but I am very ok that people do care and enjoi it.
What I fear now is if the new chapter has not a LGBTQ character this will explode in one way but if the new chapter will have an LGBTQ character that is WAAAAAY to oppressive with this one character trait (like an usual Netflix character) this will explode the other way!
SOLUTION:
Devs! You give us story bits in those tomes, aren't you? Just make a random killer and/or survivor that is already in the game gay! This way people who despretly need it (for some reason) get it and people who fear that the game can drift in the wrong direction (agenda over gameplay) will have no worries because the character is already established.
In my opinion that is the perfect solution for the whole situation. And by the way Overwatch did also with Soldier 76 and noone cares.

or maybe people should stop having a panic attack over a reskin in a game that falls apart every other update. What the ######### does making a survivor gay, bi, trans, or whatever actually do to the game?
Sure, maybe more people play because they get a character they like, but news flash. You don't like it? Just don't buy the survivor. Magical, I know, but you don't need to buy every DLC.

There already is an existing char that was created with being LGBTQ+ in mind. But it wasn’t relevant to the story the devs wanted to tell about that character so we don’t know who it is. Chances are we will eventually find out in a future tome.
also, the devs can add characters with any traits they want. They are free to do so. And they have already stated they want to be inclusive for LGBTQ+.
this should have been the end of the story.

Firstly I mean noone cares now he is gay! He is a good pick in some situation and noone right in mind would not pick him against Pharah just because he is gay!
Secondly: Good to know! So I am even more confused what the freaking problem there is! We already have LGBTQ so why the civil war? Why cant people just shut up about it?

In before the devs either add in the wrong kind of representation, mess up the LGBT character somehow or doesn't add a lgbt character and ppl complain about the dev's freedom to do what they want with the characters.

You said "We already have LGBTQ" but we don't. Confirmed in the lore we have:
- David King was in a straight relationship
- Felix is in a straight relationship and is expecting a child
- The Nurse had a husband- straight relationship
- Two members of the Legion (Frank and Julie) are in a straight relationship.
There's still no LGBTQ+ representation in any of those relationships. I was simply pointing out how your point was wrong.

Did the backstory for Elodie happen? She gives off some lesbian vibes, but they may have already established her sexuality, I honestly don't know

I didnt say anything!? It was told me? Did you read the whole thing? I said I dont care and did not read ANY of the backstories! And I will never care! They can even make an Argonian survivor as part of a Skyrim DLC... not interesting! People are way to obsessed with stuff like this!
What if we get a survivor LGBTQ? Then hater who play killer will focus this person away and hit him on hook/bring mori etc. This could bring media attention to this game that we dont need at all!

Stating that it's been shown the devs would do this. They named two examples, David and Legion, however both of these are straight. That's not LGBTQ+.

When they revealed an existing Overwatch character was gay in the comics (not even in game) the playerbase flipped their collective lids (twice) so I don't know how well that would go over.

Wasn't Soldier: 76 a bit controversial because Blizzard were getting bad PR for something and they basically announced his sexuality as a way to distract from that?
Tracer might be a better comparison: her relationship was announced casually in a comic, and I think that was received pretty well?

I've seen civil and educational conversations, because a lot of people (much like you) don't understand.
I'd suggest to educate yourself before making a suggestion about LGBTQ inclusion, because your "Solution" sounds like a lazy idea, not to mention it sounds more like a 'token-queer' character idea.

That IS the magic! It WOULD go over BECAUSE the character is already there! E.g. Wraith is gay: so what ? People would rage a bit like those who would anyway rage when this new dlc is a gay character. But atleast they dont need to accept a new person and someone who is gay at the same time! It would be easier to accept a sexuality reveal for an existing and familiar character then accept a new character + he/she is LGBTQ! Just think about this community! Every killer survivor realease will flood the forums with complains to everything: to weak/strong/bad perks/op perks and so on IN THE SAME TIME!

I'd suggest making a Doe survivor. Someone with no history due to memory lose and forced to find themself within the realm of the entity. Let players impart personal theories and create a variety of skins that amount to multiple identities.
No reason devs need to mandate this specifically or suffer any form of backlash.

Sorry but your opinion is not the law and not accepted by everyone on this planet. Revealing the sexiality of any character was a stupid idea from the start because now we have this situation. If we would know nothing about any character people could assume what ever they want and be right for them self.
Making an existing character gay is not lazy but briliant psychological step to damage control! People are more likely to accept small changes to things they know then big changes of unknown! Making e.g. Hag gay will make people mad that would get mad anyway over LGBTQ but adding a new Killer/survivor + making them an agenda will double hate because every new character is discussed controversial in this community.

That is on you that you dont understand it. But it is logical to start small and maintain control then potentialy divide the comminity. If people see that there is no problem caused by a character being LGBTQ then they will more like accept more of this in the future.

Stop implying that people "desperately" need an LGBTQ character, simply because they made a suggestion. There is absolutely nothing wrong with asking for representation, and everyone is entitled to make requests.
I never said my opinion was the law, what does that have anything to do with that I said? So let me get this correct... You think that because a group of individuals suggested that an LGBTQ character be added to the game, it's not going to appease others? Whoa no way. I mean when other characters were added I'm pretty sure not everyone got excited for them. This is how it already works.

To the big discomfort of the few of us who are more mature then the majority of this world and this community adding a character of not standardized sexual orientation would potentialy decrease the number of concurent player by a lot in contrary to what your hypothesis was. Because many small minded people could be shocked and discomforted by a transgender/ crossdressing person in this game. Revealing an existing character being e.g. gay would cause less uproar in the community and open the opportunity to add more unconventional stuff in the future with less resistance.

I think that just "makign someone gay" is exactly what they were avoiding. They said they wanted to bring representation, but doing it the right way, so that's just the other way around.
They just should release the character as is and that's it, no hidings.

BHVR made it very clear on different occasions that inclusion is very important for them and that they would rather want intolerant people to leave this game

I think what they mean is they want LGBTQ characters that are in the closet. Since that won't 'hurt' people's feelings because god knows the world will end if they add a character with too many colors in their cosmetics who is openly gay.
At least that is what I got from them.

OK. SO people here just dont seem to understand the following:
There are different people I will name a few (not all):
1)LGBTQ people
2)People who are pro LGBTQ but are straight themselfs
3)People who are neutral
5)People who are against LGBTQ because unfamiliar
6)People who are against LGBTQ because of personal believe or being conservative
7)People who are against LGBTQ because of regious believe
and many more kinds of people!
ME being the most diplomatic you could ever get am suggesting to reveal an existing character LGBTQ to offened the least amount of people. Because YES it WILL offend people! I dont know if you are so delusional that you dont udnerstand it or you simly forgot it!
Is it wrong to be against LGBTQ? For us its ofcourse wrong! But try to confince a strong religous person! If you disrespect his religion you are doing the same they are doing to LGBTQ!
If I would want to convince a strongly conservative person that there is nothing to fear from LGBTQ I would not confront them with a crossdressing person, I would rather show them e.g. a successfull doctor who is doing a lot of good is completly normal and happenes to be gay and its nothing wrong about it. Getting a person to accept small things first will allow me to also make more confronting stuff more acceptable!
The LGBTQ community is fighting in so many contries for freedom and survival it pains me to see that I am attacked here because I want a more diplomatic approach and try to respect opinions of all people and convince them subtle in the begining!

I don't think so. I believe the ones that are againts it are a minority. We are living in 2021, your argumentent could be valid maybe in the 80 but now? Not everyone is open minded of course but i think or i want to believe that we grew a little as human beings in the past few years. Although there is still a lot to do..
And im not sure if it will attract more players to the game, but what im sure is that if the devs do it, it will talk good about them as a company that cares about it.
