I say it's probably in a good state considering the DLC, the rift pass and the amount of cosmetics that are in the store.

A full cosmetic set costs around £10 and I know a lot of people who have a ton of them so it's safe to say that they are stable. Probably not making millions or anything like that but enough that they are still supporting the game after almost 5 years.

Per steamcharts.com, DBD has roughly 36k (rounding up slightly) on at the moment, I'd venture and say they're not exactly hurting for cash at the moment. I'm sure they made back their initial costs and then some. Especially if they're paying out for various licenses and paying to keep said licenses in game for X amount of years.

I buy every licensed killer/survivor when they come out. Spend iridescent shards on everyone else. Never spent money on cosmetics or anything. That's my contribution I guess.

At the very least both xbox and playstation has around 1 million+ users average according to some stats I could find. Licenses most likely are attributed to auric cell purchases and cosmetics related to those, but any reoccurring fee would not be public info. The bunny feng cosmetic made more than a million usd if I heard correctly.

The moment DBD stops making money is the day either the game is finally getting fixed or completely abandoned.
