You cant be serious dude. Not all survivors play the same way at all. Some sit in corners on the opposite end of the map, others will be near you as you hook someone. Most just sit on the gen they were on, which is often far enough out that you can chainsaw directly to them or see which way people are running if they want to run towards the hooked player. You can check my profile on steam if you really need proof of me playing since 2016. You. can see when I first got an achievement for proof.

Maybe you dont use it for auras, but you absolutely can. Regardless of "kist knowing" where people will be, because again, not every survivor plays the same way

And you can re read what I originally said. The aura reading is good on HIGH MOBILITY killers. Billy being arguably the highest mobility killer if youre good at map traversing with the saw. Ive had games where ill hook someone, saw to a bbq aura, down them, hook, saw to another aura, down them, and it just snowballs like that. Just because you dont use it for the aura doesnt mean its not good to use for the aura.

So, I've noticed a lot of people point out counters to BBQ, which is one of Blight's best perks.

But the biggest strategy tha you can use is the one that takes effect the entire match:

    Split up.

If you stay as far away from each other as physically possible, Blight has to run across the entire map to get you all.

That doesn't mean a lot when he basically has at-will map traversal, but that dies help.

As for when he does find you, you have to know how to loop him effectively. He will run you down if you flee, so looping is your only good strategy. Try to loop obstacles with small circumfrences and utilize pallets as much as possible, unless he has the Iridescent that lets him delete pallets for free. Try to hit him with the pallets, rather than drop them in front of him, since he can Rush them down either way.

OP didn't want the actual helpful advice. So I gave him some other advice.

Let’s not beat around the bush. BBQ can be fairly unbearable in solo q against high mobility killers. A lot of the “counters” are borderline useless. Because even if that individual successfully avoids BBQ a handful of times, none of that matters if the rest are dropping like flies.

Matches with high mobility killers using BBQ usually resort to solo players giving up on gens after the first repair or 2, and pretty much waiting out the hatch.

    Heres some counters

Use perks such as off the record, distortion, or sole survivor in descending order from best to worst imo

    Be within range for bbq

Hide aura with lockers or hide behind a gen and hope he doesn't see the aura

Use spinechill + sprint burst on a gen to tell if he is coming and then walk to stealth away and if he sees you sprint burst away

Lol. "I don't wanna hear ways to counter it!"

Locker. Distortion. Hide behind a gen. Run towards a pallet real quick. Hell, if a Blight is cross mapping you then he's giving a free save and freeing up total pressure from the rest of your team. Learn to loop in that exact situation and you'll be surprised how easy you can win.

I'm sorry, are you expecting them to balance this game around moronic survivors who are bad at the game and don't know these things? In that case why does DS, BT, UB, DH exist? It's not fair the killer can't know if they have those and play around them, and there could be FOUR survivors with them all. "Well, it isn't fair my terrible teammates don't assume/use the many ways to counter one of the most popular killer perks that every killer has!"

Hold up, why are you just ignoring the DIRECT counters to BBQ/aura reading perks, which are lockers and hiding behind gens?

What's the point of telling people to not tell you about the direct counterplay to something, and when they suggest alternatives forms of counterplay, you go "Wow!! All this is so unhealthy and unrealistic!!!" Ok? Then...use the direct counter to the perk?

What is the point of this post? You already know what to do against it. If your teammates don't, then it is what it is, you're playing solo queue in a game without in-game communication; you have subjected yourself to this experience. If you have knowledge of the advantages a killer can have against you, then defend yourself against those advantages, and your teammates can do the same if they are also aware of them.

You are at a huge disadvantage. This is why BBQ should be nerfed. This was actually a very normal example, or quite frankly most common way a match is against a Blight or any fast killer for that matter. It's an unfair advantage against the majority and the devs have set blatant double-standards with their balancing. Things on survivors are always nerfed when it seems hard for killers but when it is hard for survivors a deaf ear is given and now you have a huge imbalance in these matches. It needs to lose the aura reading completely to make it fair.

Countering a Blight that can 180 flick is really hard. Even if you put an obstacle between yourself and the Blight player, a lot of the time they can still hit you around the obstacle.

I'm sorry, but would you rather the Blight be running Thrilling, Tinkerer, Discordance, Ruin/Surveillance, Whispers or Infectious?

Those perks are 10× more consistent than BBQ because BBQ has way too much counterplay. Get in range, hop in a locker, hide behind a gen, fake your direction, even aura-blocking perks hard counter it. As a Blight main, BBQ is the first perk I drop from my build when I want to play sweaty. Even though it seems like it should be amazing on Blight and Billy, it's really not.

I dont understand why it is stupid to counter a perk with a perk. Perks are their to give you some abilites like getting important information, enhance your stealth or chase power, weaken the killer or buff your mates etc. So if you can counter more than 3 perks with just using one perk and you find that stupid then I honestly think the issue is more with you than from the game.

The easiest way to counter bbq IMO is using kindred. A lot of killers give bbq away if they head in your or your teammate’s direction

Why don't you just come out and say you want BBQ nerfed? Every time someone offers a suggestion for counterplay, you have an excuse.

You would be surprised how often I run BBQ and not see anyone's auras after a hook. Apparently they figured out how to play around it.
