How come the killers are so much faster than survivors?
Seriously, how come they are so much faster than survivors? Lately it seems that none of the groups I’ve been in have the survivors been able to out maneuver the killer. Between lunge grab and the gross level of speed the killers have (Pig and cannibal seem to be the worst) it becomes so discouraging to play as survivors because the vast majority of the time we are spending unhooking our team mates.

Killers are designed to be faster than survivors, they're also much larger and slower on certain things - vaulting for example, their larger hitboxes make things like looping possible as survivors with their smaller hitboxes can get closer to objects to make the loops smaller from their perspective.
The characters that you mentioned both have specific attacks that do speed them up - Leatherface has his chainsaw movement speed (as does The Hillbilly) and Piggy has her dash, these increased movement speeds are for a short time only and essentially make up the killers power.
You do have the opportunity to outrun the killer - vaulting through windows will buy you time as the killer either has to go round or vault themselves, and they vault at a slower speed. And one of the most important mechanics as a survivor is being able to loop the killer, taking correct pathing through jungle gyms etc.
