The Killers, as avatars in The Magnus Archives
I listen to a really enjoyable podcast called "The Magnus Archives": A cosmic horror story about an institute that examines various happenings, often linked to 1 of 15 types of fear. The basic list is below:
Basically, I've put each killer into a specific fear that it may be the avatar of, just for a bit of fun:
The Trapper - The Buried (due to both the mine collapse and also the crushing control over the workers).
The Wraith - The Desolation (due to his archive lore and the pain he has suffered).
The Hillbilly - The Lonely (due to his isolation because of his appearance and bad parenting).
The Nurse - The Spiral (due to her insanity and the insanity she worked within).
The Shape - The Hunt (due to his M.O. and enjoyment of stalking his prey).
The Hag - The Flesh (due to her imprisonment to cannibals, and her eventual turning into one.
The Doctor - The Web (due to his controlling his victims and research into the art of mind control, as well as being given free reign to conduct his experiments).
The Huntress - The Hunt (due to how she survived, alone in a difficult time .. and her namesake).
The Cannibal - The Flesh (due to his eating habits, method of mutilating victims and wearing their faces).
The Nightmare - The Desolation (due to how he died and the pain and suffering he puts onto his prey. The boiler room and attachment to it).
The Pig - The Web (due to her traps, as well as her manipulation by Jigsaw).
The Clown - The Stranger (due to his using of a helpful, friendly persona, his role as a clown and the constant travelling; hiding his true nature).
The Spirit - The Hunt (mainly motivated by her rage and desire to hunt for revenge).
The Legion - The Vast (due to them living in a boring town, living insignificant, meaningless lives).
The Plague - The Corruption (due to the disease which claimed her and her followers).
The Ghost Face - The Hunt (due to his enjoyment of finding victims to further his career).
The Demogorgon - The Dark (due to its mysterious origins and coming from a world that is still very much unknown).
The Oni - The Slaughter (due to his enjoyment of fighting the best of warriors on the battlefield and insatiable bloodlust).
The Deathslinger - The Web (due to his history of being used for his expertise and manipulated).
The Executioner - The End (due to his very nature and its judgement of the sins of others).
The Blight - The Web (due to his ability to control and experiment on killers, as well as his addiction to the serum and manipulation by the Entity).
The Twins - The Flesh (due to them being conjoined twins with such a mutation as she had).
The Trickster - The Eye (due to his desire to be the centre of attention, refusal to share the limelight and self-absorbed nature).
