Am I unlucky or the matchmaking is completely broken now?

Every game I am the only red rank survivor paired with brown and green rank teammates. Seeing purple is more rare than encountering unicorn. Seeing red teammate? Today not a single one. And yeah in 90% of my games we are up against red rank killers.

Really unenjoyable experience and I can only imagine how it is for my teammates who are very new to the game being obliterated left and right.

It doesn't make sense even if there are more survivors than killers because where are all purple and red rank survivors? They are not in my games for sure. And how is every killer red rank now? No sense whatsoever.

I never complain if I get people who at least played a little bit but playing with new people against red rank killers is disaster in most cases. There really isn't much you can do as one person when others aren't doing their objective.

Tbh I might take another long break if this becomes a norm.

Nope, you aren't unlucky. "Taste the Rainbow" is a very real issue afflicting MANY of us. As a Red Rank Killer I hate pulling the rainbow because it isn't challenging and makes those people unfairly HATE me.

I am purple rank, about to hit red ranks and usually get red rank killers with a mix of green to red survivors. Perhaps the area that you live in just doesn't have anyone playing or MMR is on and you are truly a brown rank survivor XD

The saddest thing about that is that those brown ranks are mostly better than the red ranks. There’s 2 types of brown ranks, the ones that are the future blendettes and the gen rushers, I do everything I can to save and protect newbies if they do gens, they are so funny, they can’t loop but stick to gens.

    Sure whatever you say buddy.

I dunno In my case people are completely new and go down in seconds. They don't understand tiles, killers and everything else. They can't even stay on the gen for 10 seconds.

Magical Purple Unicorn and rising here. Matchmaking is hot garbage. It makes me sad that it used to be better than this at one point and now it's just crap. Had a game with a rank 1 killer, while I'm paired with ranks 4/15/ and 20 survivors. The 20 only had 1 perk, played like they were brand new, and the icing was killing themselves on the first hook 🤪. Can we please have a gun in this game for moments like these, so we don't have to waste time and can just sacrifice ourselves to the entity?

It is good now again. I am getting people close to my rank. This game is playing with me.

I play solo and I'm constantly put with other SWFs that are not in my rank. I'm current rank 1 and for example, I'll be put with another red rank that's playing with significantly lower ranked friends. And then I find out that the killer is also rank 1. Then the match typically goes downhill sometimes.

Usually, I'm placed with a rainbow of ranks but the killer is often, suspiciously a rank 1.

Come on, DBD, get it together!

    Reported for flaming.

And I bet I have a lot more hours and experience than you in the game. If you are going to keep baiting and insulting someone find someone else.

To me, this happens basically instantly - first I have somewhat normal Matchmaking and then suddenly the Matchmaking becomes odd. Happening around 11 PM and later that it changes. Most of the time Console Players are involved as well.

Yesterday had a game against a rank 10 Oni with my friend (both Rank 1) and two Rank 20s from Console. And they were legit Rank 20s, the David got grabbed by the Oni from a Gen and Claudette repaired a Gen next to me while I was slugged, blew it up two times and then walked away to the other corner of the Map.

    This was an experience.

I'm currently green rank, and play against red or purple ranks, and my games are normally brutal killer or ruthless killer, with a few merciless and displeased scattered. As survivor, I'm also green and matched against killers in purple and red ranks, with varying results.

Forgetting the ranking system (I've seen red ranks play worse than yellow ranks, so it's not always indicative of skill - some are carried by their swfs) I actually think it's matching well! The trials are fun. The only real difference is that a few red rank survivors act like children, but lower ranks are by far better sports. Not saying all red ranks are like this, but the kids give them a bad reputation.

I never criticised lesser ranks I am just saying that brown ranks are mostly new to the game and lack knowledge that experienced players have. No need to turn this into rank wars.

I didn't. I said a few red ranks do it, which can give a bad impression on the majority who are fair.

I think unlucky, I am getting pretty balanced matches. Killers and survivors with similar rank as me.

However don't play survivior when the queue is long, it will result in poorer matchmaking.
