What’s in a name?
I was wondering what made you choose the username you currently have? Mine is taken from Hayley Williams’ (lead singer of Paramore) debut album of the same name:
This was my favourite album of 2020 and I just love the title and the meaning behind it and thought it made a great username lol.

So my old name was Doddle28, which represented my old nickname from my parents (Doddle) & my birthday- the 28th (ain't telling the month so don't ask).
GoodBoyKaru is slightly more complex so here we go.
'Karu' is the nickname of a character I made to help myself cope with some of the ######### I was going through, and his full name is one of two things- either 'Karuma' (which is Japanese for Karma), or 'Karuna' (which is the Buddhist idea of 'compassion'). Basically, he was someone who'd always be compassionate to other people, but would be the karma of sorts for the people that wronged him, by being successful and better than the people who'd put him down. He was better than the other people and he'd show them. I'd go through scenarios in my head and think "What would Karu do?" and try my best to emulate that, to try and make myself be a better person.
Eventually, I adopted the persona online, trying to be the best person I could be there too. It helps me feel safer, too, playing a character who's like me irl but just... better.
The 'GoodBoy' part is both what I aspire to be- good- and also just a nice lil' bit I like to have at the start of it. It just sounds nice, and I like being called it.
Then there's Karu_TC which I don't use on these forums but I do elsewhere and this is simpler. Cheers' name used to be CheersTC, and to help honour him and make sure I never forget I put TC on the end of my name, Karu. Unfortunately on Twitch, KarUTc was taken and so KaruTC wasn't allowed, so I added the underscore to make it work, and thus Karu_TC was born.
Then there's also Pope Of The Donkerydoo, but that's an inside joke between me and one of my friends that kinda spiraled out of control lol.

My username is my name. First name Asher, last name Frost, says it on my boots (sorry, macho man reference)
It's not my legal name, but is the one I've gone by since I was 14, more or less.

Seriously though, I was in the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) when I was a teen, back in the before time when you had to bring your PC to a friend's house to play online with them. Since everyone is supposed to have a persona, and a persona needs a name, I was told I could choose what my name was. As someone who always hated his legal name, that was a revelation. I spent over a year deciding what I would be called. 20+ years later and I still like my choice.

Got this name from my first ever Xbox 360 profile, BitingSea43, after trying to change my name during my years on Xbox One, I decided it'd be best to return to what it used to be, so I decided to ditch the 43 and make it BitingSea, feels like a more, renewed version, like it'd had grown up like I did

strictly speaking of this forum name? mavi kuş means blue bird in Turkish. I had a biracial friend (Japanese/Turkish) back in uni and having her as a friend made me interested in Turkish culture (I'm of Japanese descent and I already am familiar with its culture), and I like the colour blue, and birds. I change my steam name willy nilly all the time to whatever the name of the food I'm eating at that time

I got my name from playing a lot of for was zombies and I was getting a online account (xbox) so I chose the name “Zombi the death” but my dad change the to the because of computer language. I became find it the name and I still play with that account and will be using that name until I die

It's a relatively short story. I used to have an account on my PS3 called Rapture's Bid Daddy or RAPTURES_BIGDADY, but one of my friend's accounts got taken somehow and they managed to snag mine too since I was naive and trusting. I made an account called Payday2_Fan (it was the game I was playing at the time) as sort of a casual account that I'd just watch Netflix on until I decided to make a new account. I started playing on the account and never stopped, leading me to getting used to it and especially getting used to being called "Payday," so when it came time on the PS4 to finally allow us to change our name, I wanted to keep the word "payday" but get rid of everything else and my friend recommended "LazyPayday," I like to leave it up to interpretation what it means but only one person has seen it the same way I did. Ever since then I've used it for most sites, but use the obvious pun of "masonry" on more social sites.
