Having like 25 smaller chests over the map, each chest should have tools inside it (to repair one gen) each tool repairs one gen, or a bible inside it (to purify the totems). To balance this, having one additional hook state to each survivor should be fine.

I can think of several reasons that is not a good idea. Sounds like you just want to rush finish a match which takes much of the fun out of it.
