someone said a while ago that MMR was secretly active, I confirm it as well
I play lots of deathsligner and spirit and I was getting lots of good survivors and I play 1 game of pyramid head which I haven't played with in months, I get survivors that run to nowhere and not a single one actually looped me once in the whole game.
And I am rank 1 killer, so I shouldn't get survivors that don't loop even once
MMR is ON

I dont think so. I main legion af rank 1 and I consistently get green-brown ranks every night. Its just typical bad match making.

Something is definitely up or something broke anyways.
It's never been this out of whack.

I've been getting decent games so far. Nothing too extreme. Occasional purple and green ranks sprinkled but overall it's just fine for me

It’s been all over the place since they said they were testing it. I think it’s really a plot by the devs to achieve the magical 2 live 2 die outcome every game. They through 2 potatoes in with two tater tots and a killer that’s good enough to get the bad ones.

MMR doesn't take rank into consideration for matchmaking. How have been the outcomes in your games on your main killer and on alt killers?
1 -
The same honestly. I seem to get the same levels of survivors regardless of what killer I play and how often I get them.
1 -
Except that never works because it ends in an easy 3-4k game that is incredibly unsatisfying as half the survivor players are in brown ranks.
1 -
Sorry, but a single game with bad opponents is not nearly enough to confirn such a bold claim.
Come back when you've tested several dozen matches as every single Killer.
Until then, I think I'll take BHVR's word on it.

There has been suspicion raised by anecdotal evidence by different members of the community. Then again, it might be biased.

I don't think it is on consistently, but I do think they have been turning it on and off regularly. I can tell by the matches I pull; one day I'm fighting all Red Rank (or Red and Purple) Survivors, and the next I've got all the colors of the rainbow. I should only be getting Reds (and the odd Purple) at this point.
Whenever they turn it on, I get to "Taste the Rainbow" and it is obvious, with a specific pattern mixing potent and weak Survivors together. The issue is this new MMR only works for Solo because it attempts to slot people in with a slurry of different ability levels. SWF entirely bypass it.

It definitely feels that way. I have been getting competent survivors both as teammates and opponents in nearly every match.

It feels like it's on. Most of the time I face competent/good survivors (though I'm about a slightly below average killer), but when I played Nurse, they were all newbies. And I'm a baby nurse. At least it helped get the archive challenges for nurse.

It feels like it's on for me, too.
If I play Bubba or Pyramid Head I expect to see tbagging Object of Obsession survivors at the start of the match.
Most of the time I can tell they're not new (unlike many red rank survivors these days) just by the fact they'll all wear 4 colorful or similar skins and 4 (strong) items.
Then when I look for a lobby as Legion (haven't played them since their rework) I will immediately get a lobby of 4 default skin survivors with no items.
Maybe that's why streamers often face potato survivors, too. Most streamers rotate between killers.
Obviously everything could just be placebo.

I feel like it got turned on.
Whenever I play Legion (my main who I win with a lot) I get put with good survivors.
I've been practicing a lot of Deathslinger recently, and if I lose even a single match it's puts me with complete bots.

Before my break I get the feeling that it was on whenever I was playing Trapper, because a lot of people just knew where all my traps were and it was so hard to get one single person trapped. Like I never had so much of a miserable time playing Trapper like I did about three weeks ago.

1 killer per 50 survivors./ thread

If you think about building a good match making model with such a variety of killers and perks as DBD has, you need a lot of data. And the best way to collect that data is run experiments to collect it. It's not something I think they could roll out in a PTB and expect to get right...
So, I wouldn't be surprised to find out that at any given moment a proportion of players are piloting the new model, a proportion is playing games matched to gather data, and another group is using an older model to serve as a control group.
But that may be giving the devs too much credit.

Okay, I don't think MMR is on. After last night. Usually when I play Pig, I get pretty tough players. But then I got some very clear newbies (and not just some guys who deranked to have an easier time) because one of them hid in a locker like most of the match. There was one red rank among them, and they got a single gen done. I only used one RBT because I felt bad for them. Would've let them all go after two hooking them, if I hadn't been doing an old rift challenge that required me to use unnerving presence. I think Matchmaking at this point is just really bad, and we get confirmation bias. I've had games in the past where it's my first time playing a killer, and I do much better than I'd expect.

It has been confirmed they won’t turn MMR on without any info.
matchmaking isn’t working as intended and there were always matches with rainbow ranks etc. Currently it’s worse because there seems to be less players that choose the killer role, this matchmaking takes longer and the algorithm is supposed to not work when a match isn’t found after some time.
that said, MMR is not completely turned off, but is collecting data in the background. But it’s just not used in matchmaking currently.

Well if it is on its not working because it seems to think I'm good

I'll say from my experience, there are certain killers I come across that scare me so much I forget how to even run! Let alone try to loop them.
I recently matched up against a P3 pyramid head on Ormon and I ran towards a ######### corner! I realised the silliness of it and just gave up and stood still accepting my destiny. Two other teammate were dead and I'd been hooked twice.
To my surprise, PH noticed and let me finish gens and go.

I actually think there's nothing on at the moment. I tried survivor and one game it was a rank 1 killer and the next it was a rank 17 killer. It's just throwing anyone together.

I posted a thread about a week ago asking about the MMR, and what I heard at the time is that the data for it *is* being collected eg. Game Performance, but MMR is not fully implemented yet.

It's not on.
Why ranks are so off right now is because survivor queues are so long. The longer you wait for a lobby the broader the ranks matchmaking will pair you up with.
Associating mmr with rainbow ranks is misplaced as this has always been an issue with DBD matchmaking.

I honestly think it's a placebo affect and matchmaking is just wack I just bought a killer and had some great suvs to start with then some really bad ones
On my main legion it's all over the place and on ghostface I played a few games got some wacky suvs then got handed a super team of legacies that I really think where definitaly legit insane suvs.

MMR is NOT used in matchmaking in the slightest. It's "on" in the background but it only collects match data, and is not active in matchmaking.
2 -
I really wish I new WHAT was involved in matchmaking then, because it isn't even remotely consistent. Today I'm back to all Red/Purple (as it should be). Yesterday I was lucky to get a Red.
