Cross Progression - The Dead Horse

If Behaviour is anything like the company I work for, only by beating a dead horse over and over again does a suggestion/ problem/ solution come to fruition. But cross progression for Xbox and PS to Steam would be amazing and would only help the game in my opinion. Before I get flamed:

I know they are trying

I know it isn't all on them, it's mostly on Sony/ Xbox and probably monetization based

In fact, I have bought dbd TWICE because I love it that much and play my Steam acct when my GF wants to play the Xbox. It would just be nice to know that they are, in fact, still trying to exhaust all outlets to make cross progression happen.

Hell I would even PAY a fee (similar to WOW and their fee's to transfer servers, change character names etc) to port my progression to my Steam acct.

What do you want them to do exactly? Sony and Microsoft won't allow it because they'll lose money. what is bhvr supposed to do about that?

Working at a Fortune 500 company, trust me when I say that things that "aren't allowed" or "won't be possible" can be allowed and anything is possible regardless of what people say.

Behaviour owns the game, not MS or Sony. They own the servers that house the progression data. They can make it happen, the only question is how badly do they want it

You would be surprised what things that are "not allowed" can happen with the right push.

Also, Behaviour owns the game, not MS or Sony. They also own the servers that house the progression data. They can make it happen if they really wanted to.

I thought the saves were still on the machines not in the cloud, a leftover from killer lobby days before the servers came out, and was never patched over? This was the reason given why the syncing DBD to another console took a very long ass time.

Might be remembering it wrong though. I'll look for the links to this...

I love this I play mostly on ps4 but have the game on steam too and I can't see how sony or MS would be losing money I pay for most dlc on psn.

I just wanna move my BP, my shards, and my auric cells from my Switch to my PS5. I've already bought everything else.

Crossprogression isn't simple, it isn't one of those things that you can just put it on the coding and works.

Sony and Xbox are just being them, not allowing bhvr to do it since they will lose money, Idk how to really explain it but basically xbox and sony are being babies about it.

Bhvr confirmed cross progression but only on switch/stadia/steam afaik.

The only thing we all can do is ######### at those platforms not ######### at bhvr since that is not on their hands.

It will cost them money because by far most migration will be from console to steam. Pc killers have a massive advantage, survivor it doesn't really matter one way or the other.

If I buy a dlc on the playstation store and then merge accounts with my xbox, I will still have the dlc on both accounts but now xbox has no chance of getting my money for that dlc

I own it on console and pc. One account became primary with every dlc so obviously I’m all for a cross but unfortunately that’s very unlikely.

It's kinda ironic that Nintendo's the only company to approve cross progression for DBD.

I've got the game on Switch, PC, and PS4. Cross Progession would be awesome. I've actually bought almost all of the dlc on both ps4 and the PC. Though I usually wait for sales when it comes to that. It would be nice if at the very least they could do cross progression when it came to bloodpoints, perks etc. But for the platforms you'd still need to purchase costumes and characters via in-store/auric cells for each individual platform if you wanted to use them. I'd imagine that would be a half way decent work around.

It most likely will never happen.

Console/Steam will not allow you to have DLC for free solely because of cross progression.

The only way it will work is if they force you to rebuy each DLC on each different system.
