If survivor can open and find chests around the map , killer should be able to smash them so they are unable to use when destroyed . Just a thought.

You can now! From my experience they don't expect it.

For sure ...I just like the cruelty of it all ...if they are injured and go to a chest across the map they realize it's been smashed.

    But why?

    Why destroy chests?

Just burn a Cut Coin and make every Ace player in the lobby cry.

Hoarder was a pretty fun perk, in theory, until they were unable to actually implement it (which I'd assume would have been play tested wayyyy before PTB came around, but here we are).

Survivors should be able to climb over a fence and get the hell out of a trial.

If a survivor loots a chest, whether or not they choose to take the item, the killer should be able to close and re-lock it.

That way it’s possible to force more time out of the survivors if they were pushed off a item they wanted and now have to re-open or trick a survivor out of their time by getting them to open an already looted chest.

Possibly get more use from Hoarder too.

The natural survivor strat would be to place unwanted items on floor, next to chest, so killer cant lock it back up (or find and gift it to others). The Killer counter to this counter would be Franklins. Not even needing to dislodge an item from survivors hands, they will just feed it to the Entity themselves.

Or does the Entity not feed on items not dropped by an attack? I’m honestly not sure right now.

I 100% agree with that idea, but would they actually chase the survivors and could down them if they stayed within the range of the chest, or just bite them and go back to normal?

My suggestion is, as a bit of an ascended meme, the basement chest is indeed the "Killer's Chest" and the killer can open and search it for some kind of reward provided survivors don't beat the killer to it. Maybe a random addon rewarded post-trial, or a BP multiplier, etc.

Eh. I guess this stifles random key escapes to an extent.

Hoarder might actually be decent if they gave it the iron maiden exposed effect on top of what it does now, right now its just a pretty garbage tracking perk

Pretty good idea! Would make the game more interesting for both survivor and killer

This is a cool idea actually.

I'd say the killer, if they get there first, can interact with the chest to boobytrap it. If a survivor subsequently tries to open it, they scream.

Sure, if it takes 10 seconds to do.

It's an idea. Shouldn't take any longer to do than breaking a breakable wall.

There’s only a small bit of ground outside the fence before it falls off into nothing. Had a game glitch that let me pass as hill billy once. Nothing exists far beyond the fence. It’s all sky colored void.

Why would you want to destroy a secondary objective that almost always works in the Killers favour unless extremely lucky or a dedicated build for it?.

Searching a chest takes 10 seconds, if you get a brown toolbox you save 6 seconds in a gen, a 4 second net loss, if you get the Commodius, the toolbox that saves the most on a gen, you save a whoping 10.5 seconds, a 0,5 net gain. That doesnt take on account the sheer time wasted going where the chest is so toolboxes are almost always not worthwhile.

Flashlights, first they are the worst item a Survivor can bring, blinding a Killer during pallet break is not worth, better to use that time to gain distance, saves are extremely hard against decent Killers and unless you get the purple one the yellow and green are pretty bad without addons.

Maps, overall useless without add-ons, especially the green one.

Medkits, this is one of the 2 items thats actually decent in a chest, since they allow a lone Survivor to heal himself and even the brown one heals as fast as a teammate healing you..

Keys, great on paper but the chance of a purple or pink key is 2%, so they almost never appear unless Plunderer's shenanigans and you still have to fix the gens for Hatch to appear or wait until everyone kicks the bucket.

TL/DR Chests are pretty useless and a gamble that almost always works in the Killer side, unless using Plunderers you want Survivors searching every chest in the map because either they search chests, do totems or fix gens and what makes you lose the game are Gens, not chests or totems. On a side note, the Killer offering should actually spawn more chests with worse items not decrease the number of it.

Removing things for survivors to do, is obviously going to focus their attention on solely doing generators which is why I've never used a coin offering as a killer - I love it when a survivor uses a shiny coin when I'm playing killer because I know I'm going to have at least one survivor off gens and searching chests, it naturally slows the game down.
