Rift challenges and the problems it creates
So as we all know the game is sorely lacking a 'win condition' which means that everyone has a different idea of what a 'good' game or a 'win' is. This creates frustration because while some think that a win is having fun and being able to use a very specific build to actually see if it works others only see a 3k/4k or an escape a win. So while some survivors just want to meme a bit while they play others want to win and win and win. The lack of direction or feedback from the game and the devs as to what a win is, for me, is the biggest issue this game has at its core.
So where does the rift come into this?
Well, since the rift only allows you to select ONE challenge at a time this creates a strange melting pot of some survivors wandering around only looking for fragments, others who just want to gen rush to get gens for their challenge and killers who play extra dirty or extra boring because the rift says they need to kill survivors by their own hand or some such.
Obviously play how you want, that doesn't mean how you play should be fun for everyone just because you find it fun but you can see how this is a problem especially when a new rift comes out.
People are out here trying to do very specific challenges like the heroic one where you need to pick 2 people up from dying state. This has lead to many survivors doing nothing but hovering around and farming you off the floor to get their challenge done. This is just an example of a challenge that is a bit niche to do in a public match. This affects both sides and leads to unsatisfying games on both ends.
So we can see how the rift challenges being so specific, tedious or ridiculously challenging almost at random can affect the game negatively.
How can we fix it?
It's simple. Instead of selecting individual challenges let us select a page from a rift and progress towards any of the currently completable rift challenges we have at any time as long as we select that rift. As an example if we complete the 12 gens challenge and open up two new ones then we can progress towards this two at the same time now.
Not only would this solve the problem of people going into games with one singular goal, possibly to sandbag other survivors or afk all game simply to noed and blood warden to get 4 1 hook kills, and thus making it less fun. But it would also address the issue many of you who play both sides would have already thought about - selecting challenges for killer and survivor separately so we don't need to switch challenges when we swap sides. We wouldn't need to do that if we could select a rift page and complete any open challenges at any time!
Obviously this isn't a huge issue but in my mind it's an issue that affects the game's health negatively.

Trying to make this more of a constructive post to address an issue that doesn't seem to be talked about much.

Yeah you’re right. I’ve had multiple games of all 3 hook bombing for a challenge

The rift does cause you to make decisions, on both sides, that are contrary to winning a lotnof the time although this section is better than the previous 2 tome chapters.

I think the rift is awesome. Breaks up the monotony, and gives something else to do. I wish the rift challenges were doubled, even tripled, and more frequent.

On top of that, some rift challenges are bugged. Spilling Blood for example, doesn´t work all the timem, because the emblems are still bugged. So people have to waste more time with the same challenges, when they could instead move on.
