the deathgarden mask

I really don't think that there's any way to get it now, since Deathgarden left us (RIP). At least not in any way that isn't bannable.
Hope this helps at least a bit (and hopefully the Mod's will come along and help answer your question more clearly.)

oh, there is a way. if you look it up there is a steam forums showing you how to do it although there are people debating if its bannable or not. but it does work. there are multiple comments saying they got it but, im not going to unless i find out. lets hope one of the mods answer.

Not bannable at all.
The method you're describing is done entirely through Steam and not related to editing your game files or using external software. Using the game ID to get Deathgarden is the exact same as getting it through the store. All the game checks for when it gives you the mask is whether or not you have the game in your library. You're perfectly fine doing it, I did it myself just a couple months ago.
SteamDB is an official Valve site and even if you don't trust it (for some reason) all it does is use Valve API, which does not require your login information. Use this ID for Deathgarden: BLOODHARVEST steam://install/555440
This is what it should look like after using the ID and adding the game to your library. You don't need to install it, just open up DbD after and you'll have the masks. Hope this helps.
Just for frame of reference: The devs don't ban for externally changing the FPS cap or for changing the graphics of perk icons. There's no way for the game to even distinguish between obtaining the mask through the store interface or by using its SteamDB link considering they are exactly the same functionally.

Yeah, I've seen that post too. Got a lot of comments saying that they did it but got banned. They could just be scaremongering though... I dunno. Once again, I hope a Mod comes along to answer this.
